Ok, so I downloaded this video some time ago, of these girls freestlying to Movin On. It was on this video that I heard the song for the first time, and got interested in it. Since then I got it on DWI and I totally loved the steps. And now Im very much wanting to play it.
Now here comes the part I dont get. The video shows these girls playing the song on what clearly appears to be a DDRMAX2 machine. Only problem is, according to the ddrfreak song lists, or to anyone know whos MAX2 well, Movin On is not on there. The song lists on this site says that on arcade machines, Movin On only exists on 5th mix, yet my eyes see them playing on Max2.
See for yourself here:

Its a screen capture (81k) I took of the video which shows the machine. Above that I enlarged the mix name of the machine, and it sure looks a hell of a lot like the official MAX2 logo, pictured to the right.
Furthermore, on the video, when the announcer talks, he sounds like the guy from Konamix, instead of the MAX/MAX2 announcer Ive always heard. More mystery to me.
And it is indeed the authentic audio that goes with the video. You can hear and see them stepping to Movin On. So its not like an audio forgery.
My first thought was, well maybe its the Japanese Max2
but as far as arcade machines go, arent Japanese and US mixes the same? In fact Ive heard many of our machines here in the US are just used JP machines. Is this not the case?
Anyway, whats the deal? How can Movin On be on Max2 on this video, when its not, and why the different announcer?[/url] |

It's a 5th mix with a 7th mix header. _________________

well thats about retarded. Why would anyone do that, especially at a tourny? I have several vids of people playing on this same machine and its definitely a tourny.
Anyway, yea... why would someone do that? To fool the DDR unwise? Unless it's doctored to say the name of the tourny, and look like the MAX2 logo. Weirdness at any rate. |

Simplest answer, they didn't feel like buying a 5th Marquee and left the Max2 one there after (I'm assuming) downgrading. |

Some bootlegs will have that same setup. NYDS (Queens, NY) has an Extreme with a Max2 banner, we used to say we were trying to hide the Extreme from the new people. _________________

I was at this tournament. It was SVGL2. Basically, they did freestyle using 2 mixes. First, they used 5th mix, and after everyone who had routines to a song in 5th mix performed, they switched over to DDRMAX2. They only wanted to move out 1 machine, so afterwards, they switched the game disc. _________________

That would be pretty sweet though if Movin' On were on MAX 2! I would have a better reason NOT to play 5th Mix.(Which is my most favorite, by the way. ) |
