Before anyone considers MyMyBox, read. I was going to get one for like $200 but changed my mind after reading this.
Now this was back at the beginning of the year... I got a pair of the ones from NeoGames9... I've had to modify them twice so far, however, these were inexpensive mods to do. They are very responsive. I've had very few problems with them.
Mods that I've done:
Immediately remove all the rubber feet.... The sides will really bow if you don't. My dad and I built a full wood frame around the pair holding them together for doubles.
The other is the arrow panels are way to stiff. I went to Home Depot and got thin panels of acrylic plastic... 12 panels worth for $16. I then got a large piece of sheet metal for about $6 and cut them to fit around the inside of the panel for the connection plates.
Another person I've talked to, who emailed me to tell me of his problems with these pads, he made new switches for the select and start that are in front of the pad, seperate from the up arrow. _________________

$80 pad = probably not that good. I think it might fall into the third category on the first page, but with ddr pads you mostly get what you pay for.

Exactly. I made an edit on my stupid post, but it was really late, and probably nobody noticed it. Thanks for the help. |

Hey I'm going to get 2 MyMyBox 6 arrow metal pads from Ebay. Do these require any modding, and how long do they last? I'm either getting those or these cyphergames: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3537716180&category=21185 ... are those version 1s or 2s??? If I find out that both of these are screwy I may just end up going with 1 cf.... but i really want 2 pads. I know I already posted this on the last page but no one responded and i really need advice... please help. _________________

Bit off topic sidenote:
If you are building a metal pad on your own, you haven't completed the wiring for the pad and plan on putting lights in, I think this diagram will prove VERY useful. It's the only design where the lights and the pad both connect to one switch, instead of two (the conventional design used to setup lights, in particular, the design used in Patster's guide).
The image is available here:

This is the thread I made on in:

Actually, My MyMyBoxes were kept in perfect condition, until the wiring ripped out of both of them a month intbetween each.
Which brings me to why I'm here. I'm not too sure what the 19 other pages that I didn't read uncover, but I'll read them a bit later. Right not I figured I'd put it out andf ask if anyone repairs MyMyBoxes, regardless of money, location, ect. I'm just looking for someone to repair it, thanks. _________________

I have a cypher games pad. Recently it's been acting up. Whenever i hit the up it registers as hitting both the up and left It's definitely somewhere in the wiring cause i snipped the wires then rubbed them together to make sure it wasnt vibration connecting the left connectors to connect as well. I also have the right arrow permanently down. I fixed the right arrow by moving the connector from the upper right down to the right. Then i just taped up the ends of the former right arrow and left them dangle. That worked for that one. I could do it for the up arrow, but then i wouldnt have any start button i could hit while on the pad, which would get annoying fast. I just want to know if there's anyway to fix this double arrow hitting. |

Hey all, I'm thinking about purchasing 2 of the new RedOctane Metal Pads. However, before I do, I have a few questions that I need anwered. Here they are:
1) Are all the buttons the same size as the arcade?
2) Are all the buttons the same size as each other; on the pic on the ReOctane website, the solo buttons look like different sizes.
3) Does the pad feel like an arcade pad? |

I'd recommend the Cobalt Flux, mostly for the 6 month warranty, and the fact that no one really knows if the Redoctane is worth it or not. (Sure, they had a testing, but the Redoctane guy said that the control box plug was shattered. In other words, no one can confirm that the Redoctane pad doesn't miss with an unbroken control box plug... no one outside Redoctane's had a chance to test it under those conditions.)
Plus, I got 12 Light AAA's and two Standard AAA's in the first three or four days I had my Cobalt Flux. Before that point, I'd only acheived three AAA's on three one foot songs. _________________
