ABC Family's Dance Fever Mall Tour

I suppose the Cleveland thing could have gone a lot worse. It was a fairly small turnout (roughly 14 competitors to start, and there were a couple more people who signed up late). I managed to get to the second round, but was destroyed on Dub-I-Dub Maniac (mainly because I haven't even HEARD the song in ages, let alone played it -- that, and I suck at DDR to begin with

). A guy named Brad won the whole thing on Saints Go Marching Maniac, and since he was with a group who plays in the same area I do, that was just fine with me.

I'm not sure which ABC guy was Praster -- there was one who ran a Freestyle tourney during the loooong wait between the first and second round, and since he was the only one I saw on the machines, I'll take a guess and say it was probably him. I didn't talk to him, so I don't really have an impression of him -- maybe someone else will chime in with one?

Besides that, I'm really not sure what to think of the whole thing. There didn't seem to be much excitement with what little crowd there was, and considering the prize, that was a surprise.

lol, i just saw a commercial for the Dance Fever Mall Tour. It was for the Boston area's stop, and if u were a cute little very confident girl dancer, u would definately have been like "i'm so there!". it sed "dance competition starts at 6 so come early to register!" (or sumthin along those lines). i found that quite funny.

Kris - The tickets should come to Mortal's house before you need to leave for Las Vegas just incase you lose them or somewhat act of god happens. I will try to make it to the las vegas event which I hear only plans to be a dinner, meeting the cast, and open bar for saturday. There plans to be nothing friday nor sunday. Maybe you, Mortal, dj P, paul, g, ryu, and me will be hitting up circus circuit for some pop n 8.

Vega - Pending on the turn out of competitorsm, there might or might not be a freestyle event. It was big in Detroit but not to big in Cleveland.

Cleveland - Cleveland was alright, small but okie. You guys got a good small community with some cool cats. Good job on winning Brad. see you in vegas maybe?

For people's information, all the songs that I pick for the competition try to be off beat or hard but not too hard. The songs will never be super slow like Jam Jam or super on beat easy like Do it All Night. I try to provide a challenge to all players to make each round challenging but no too hard but hard to keep a combo going because the competition is based of score and combo determines score. Though I play judge, jury, and executioner, I try to be fair to all levels of skill playing. But no matter what, the difficulty of the song must rise in ever round. Judging there are 3 rounds, First round, Semifinals, and Finals, the difficult of each round can go up fast. Sometimes there might be a quarterfinal round pending on players.

Hope to have a good time in Pittsburgh even though the mall is pretty small.

Once again this has nothing to do with dance Fever except promote the show. Personally I have not watched the show but I heard bad reviews about it, from the ddr community and my boss.

Well the Pitt tourney was fun although I had so many problems with the pads I couldnt full combo anything but was fun none the less.

Satan made finals but some guy that played in the last 2 won this one finally 3rd times a charm.

Yeah I made it to the finals. My machine was off beat with the one next to me that the other guy was playing on so it threw me off and I couldn't keep the beat. Oh well no use in complaining or anything.

The last song was Orion 78 maniac, I didnt do as good as I should have because of the reason listed above but i'm cool with it.

It was a good tournament in all and I would like to enter in another soon.
Time to practice the older heavy songs more, asap...

huh, I didn't think that the machines could get offbeat due to how they were wired...if they were though you prolly could of gotten a redo. Remember they said any issues with the pads/machines bring to their attention immediatly.

And the only thing that really went wrong I mean terribly wrong was after a round a kid farted into a fan and everyone cleared the stage and matches were postponed

Before the strart of the match he gave me the option to change machines but the other 2 had bad pads and I had no idea that the machine would be offbeat.

This machine was having trouble a few times that day. Well to the dude that won I would like a Orion 78 rematch as soon as you come back to pittsburgh. I just wanna prove that I can do better and beat you and prove to myself that I am the better DDR Player. I don't want to put anything up, I just wanna prove it to myself.

Hell pick any song it wont matter.

It's funny that for 1st place you get a vip trip for 2 to vegas and for 2nd place you get a hat! C'mon ABC hook me up with something better that a hat, you have my e-mail address.
