Well this might be a dumb post but just want to know the basic of how much money people at least spend it a month for DDR I know I spend a lot and my brothers and my mom are like "you should save up your money to buy the game" im like well ya only a 1,000-2,000 $ will buy it but now they are like interested of buying a whole DDR machine and putting it in the garage and stuff so if I do get it which I dunno if they let you buy it there or something I dunno im going to charge 25cents per game I make my own profit I dunno so ya I thinks it's cool im trying to convince my brothers and parents about this idea I think I would at least make allot of $ a month if this is a dumb posted then lock it I was just wondering if this would be a good idea and if I should know anything you know what I mean I hope so.. _________________

I don't think it's a bad idea. But dude, that was painful to read. Please use at least some punctuation and grammar when writing your post. _________________

do u realize u didnt use ONE period in ur paragraph? that was really hard to read. <- Period there dont take it wrong, just a little joke! ha ha
that aside, that would be a cool idea. espicially if there are many ddr players in ur town, but not many machines, or even no machines. that would bring in a lot of money, and if not, it can be ur own huge piggy bank!!!! |

ify oupu t it in ur garage who iwll ply it ur frends or jst u I now i wldnt go ta my frends hizz 2 ply a gae
It doesn't matter if you are in school or not, using correct grammar is essential if you want people to understand you.
If you want to buy a ddr machine, go for it. But if you stick in in your garage, I wouldn't expect business to boom. I know I would much rather go to an arcade. |

buy it!
but screw the profit idea, just play it forever yourself. esp. if your mom's okay with it cause of the electricity bill and everything.
or actually, maybe you could hold tourneys and charge an entry fee. |

You could have a 32-inch TV in your garage, some metal pads, and a few JP-DDR mixes for PS1/PS2. You don't really need the thing to have a coin slot to make money. Who's gonna care if you don't have a permit?
Even if you had an Extreme 2 machine in your garage, do you want to be "that rich asshole" that actually charges his friends to play? They won't be your friends for long. Besides, the real DDR experience is at an arcade, not some dingy (or well-lit) garage.
And you won't make a ton of money from it. And some people will come with no money. And they will be coming to play at odd hours. And they will want to use your bathroom. Or just the corner of your garage. Or steal stuff in the garage. Or... or... |

yea i think you need a permit to have people pay money to play it. unless you really want a machine for yourself, you should buy one. unless, maybe if you could live without a machine, then you could get a PS2 and some metal pads so it wont cost as much. _________________

WTF was that? I could actually read his post. Yours was just impossible to read.
Meanwhile, a DDR arcade machine costs a lot of money. 3-5 thousand and up. It would be a wiser investment for you to buy two MyMyBox Metal pads ($400), a Japanese and US PS2 ($550), and all 3 PS2 games ($170), and a decent-good TV ($200-$300). That gives you a grand total of $1,420.
Considerably cheaper than arcade price. And not any worse of a song count with 3 different mixes. You could buy others, but all the other mixes have only 20 fps instead of 60. In addition two more PS2 games are coming out this fall, buy US MAX2 and JP Extreme and now your total is up to $1,530. That's MORE songs than an arcade and less cost.
Then toss in some big speakers for fun. Who-ho. Maybe a $200-300 sound system. Alright. Now your at a grand total of $1,830 for your own arcade system, likely with a bigger TV (arcade TVs being small and what not) (one reason saying PIU is a cheap immitation od DDR is kinda dumb, a PIU screen looks a lot more expensive. If it's not more expensive, than Konami should use the same thing).
Right so in answer, don't buy an arcade for your garage. I always thought it was kinda silly unless you were some rich bastard who could casually afford to buy arcade machines. I'll do that once I'm rich, for now I'll go with jury rigged systems. :-P _________________

he was er... being sarcastic.
but yeah, my dad wants to buy a ddr machine. he's into all sorts of "get rich quick" stuff.
but if you do get a ddr machine, I would recommend that you arrange with a local bowling alley (or some place like it) to have the machine placed there. _________________

Well, I tell you what. A friend of mine intends to get a DDR machine. If he indeed does, then screw the arcade! (Though he said he would let me play for free...)
You aren't going to get rich off of DDR in your garage. Have it put somewhere like mouse suggested. _________________

6 songs??? I thought the maximum setting was 5 songs per game.
I wouldn't recommend keeping the machine in your garage if you got one, unless you could keep the temperature from getting too hot or cold. The extreme temperature in the garage might be bad for the machine.
