My japanese is RUSTY but I think it says Yume miru shoujyo jairarenai.

Yep... I'm right, and I don't think it's on any PS version, but I am far from an expert.

Hey, I have a Playstation, and I just got into BM. I was wondering what are the best versions of BM, or if someone could give me reviews for each one. So far, I got a DJSP controller, and all I need are the games (I already have my PS modded). Thanks in advance guys.

As a key disc, get 6th Mix + Core Remix. It's considered the best home mix to date.

As for appends, I suggest you get 5th Mix Append ASAP. My favorite Mix so far. The songlist is GREAT. Also, get Club Mix. It also has some awesome songs.

I've been looking to play beatmania for a while and have been playing on the keyboard a lot. Just out of curiosity I looked on ebay yesterday for beatmania and they had the first playstation game there for 5 bucks! I don't have the controlelr yet but for 5 dollars I couldn't pass it up, lol.

Genom Screams [A] is easy. It should only be a 7 or 8 star, 321 [A] should take its place.

Well, on Saturday at MGL, I did a lot better than I usually do. I can almost full combo TetraQ (Stupid Goods), I can now do up to some 6s (First one I did was Attack The Music), and I have discovered a really cool song known as Boa Boa Lady (I think that's what it's called. It's a Reggae song).

I posted a few months ago about not being able to play appends with an external mod chip. Well, I used that trick where when I go to the switch disc option, I put in a US game, wait a few seconds and then put the append disc in and it booted up fine.

Seeing that I was able to play an append disc (the one that came with Beatmania 2nd Mix), I went ahead and got 5th Mix. I attempted to play it the same way I got the other append to work, by putting in a US game and then switching it with the append. After the disc loads, I get one of those anti-mod chip screens and the game doesn't load. I didn't realize 5th Mix had anti-mod protection.

So, if I can get anti-mod codes for the game, how would it recgonize them if the game is an append since I have to load the key disc first? Or is there no way to play an append with mod chip protection on an external mod chip unless I try to find a patch for it?

YoshiFan: I don't know if there's anything you can do about it, but there might be copies on the internet that are anti-mod and even don't require a disc-swap... dunno though. At least they would be legal to get it you could find them since you have the original game.

Hello everyone. I just got in my 2nd Mix+Append and I can't get the appened disc to work. I have a PS X-Change 2. Will this be enough or will I have to get a mod chip of some kind? Please help!

Since 2nd and its append don't use anti-mod protection, the PSX-Change should be enough to get you through, in theory. In practice, other stuff can happen to prevent it from working (I can't get mine to work), but I don't know what causes that.

Finally got this problem of appends and swap discs nipped. Here's the steps I used. This hasn't been tested on anything other than 2nd+Append and I don't know if it'll work on anything else but it's worth a shot.

1.) Load the boot disc and enter in whatever Anti-Mod codes you for the append discs.

2.) Start the key disc and use the disc change option.

3.) When the CD stops spinning, put in a local game for the region of your playstation (i.e. American).

4.) Lift the wieght off the cover sensor and place it back down. This tells the game that the cover has been open and shut.

5.) Let the disc load 10-15 secs, just long enough to load the region data into your playstation.

6.) Carefully take out the local disc and place in the append disc.

7.) Press start.

With any luck your append disc should load and you'll be on your way to some hours of beatmania bliss. If after you insert the the append and it says to insert either an append disc or key disc, this means you didn't let the local disc read long enough. No big deal, just try it again.

Hope this helps some people.

That's exactly what I tried with 5th Mix but I still got to the anti-mod screen. Either I used codes that didn't work or my mod chip (GameHunter) didn't work right or it could just be that there is no way to get 5th Mix to run with an external mod chip without using a patched version.

Hey guys im just getting into Beatmania, and im looking to get the stuff for my PS2. I only really have 1 question. See i have a US PS2 and buying a whole new Japanese ps2 is outta my budget so im looking to mod my US one. I found this website

http://www.success-hk.com/pp/item_detail.asp?itemID={36C60905-6DF1-4A32-9831-5BA09BA0529F}

And its called the PS2 slide tool and it comes with the Swap Magic 2.0 discs. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was compatible with the Beatmania games.

I reccomend you just go with having www.psx-tech.com mod your PS2. They are very reliable, and compared to t other modders, they do excellent work at the right prices.

Boot disks/Slide Tools have their flaws, and modchips are pretty much flawless. Dont go for those cheap alternatives, and just get your system modded with one of the "Big Three" chips which are The Magic 3.1, Messiah 2, or the DMS3. I suggest either the Messiah 2 or the DMS3, because the current Magic 3.1 does not have total PSX stealth technology. While some of my older PSX imports work, one of my imports wont run on my Magic 3.1(Beatmania 6th Mix + Core Remix). www.precisionmods.com is working on an add-on clip to include stealth technology to the Magic 3.1.
