trying to get a general idea of how many other people's families can't accept it as a hobby.

I know of someone who bought a home version for his young daughter and ended up playing it quite a lot himself. I saw them do a light freestyle routine together at an arcade last week; I hardly ever play in the arcades but I expect this isn't the sort of thing you come across very often.

Let's see...

Mom: Doesn't care
Dad: Thinks it's kinda neat. Likes the fact I've lost a considerable amount of weight thanks to it. (gotta love Diet Diet Revolution E4.gif )
Brother and sister-in-law: Not bad players. Can do 4-5 foot songs.

My friends and coworkers think it's kinda neat, that is if they know what DDR is in the first place. Generally, the reaction I've had is quite positive. It doesn't matter too much to me anyway since I don't live at home. thumb.gif

At first, my family said it was a stupid game, and the only good thing was that I went and played that when I was upset, instead of punching things, like walls, doors, and pillows. Well, it's been over a year since I was first introduced to DDR, and NOW!

Mom: because of medical problems can only play Stepmania, but she plays it!

Dad: mocks it, but has tried and found it fun. He's a joker, so he still makes fun of it, but I laugh, cause he's hilarious when he tries!

oldest brother: says its stupid.

^his son^ (my 3-yr-old nephew): LOVES the game! doesnt know about up down left and right, but he tries when my friend brings his home stuff over. of course, his favorites are the Mickey Mouse songs, but he loves the whole game!

the daughter (my 2-yr-old niece): I dont even WANT to show it to her... erm.gif

the younger son (7 month old nephew): come on, think about it! I finally got him to look at me and make cute sounds!

oldest brother's wife: has epilepsy... man I REALLY wish sometimes that I could get her to watch me play! flash.gif devil.gif

my other older brother: has tried it, plays Stepmania, not good at the game yet, but I know he'll get better!

his wife (my GOOD sis-in-law! E4.gif ): loves the game, plays Stepmania all the time with me, and at her home, and whenever we go play at our favorite place, we have loads of fun!

Ok, not my family, but important too!

My Boyfriend: He's good. Sometimes he tries to hard to get better, and gets frustrated, so gives up. But I know he can do it. I've seen him do really good. And I hope he reads this so he can know that I really believe he can do it... cause if he goes on being a downer about it, I'm gonna feel like punching someone! : coughdjdustbustercough : Not to mention any names, though! riiight.gif

So yeah, it took my family awhile to like DDR, but they see it good. Its great exercise, even my doctors like it because of the amount of exercise I get while I play it! E7.gif

Mom: She's pretty much supportive of everything and anything I do, but she really likes watching me play (when she has the chance) and shes played it before as well. She always likes watching me because she says the other people who play don't look quite as good, shes really cool

Dad: My dad thinks its silly that I play it so damn much but hes played both DDR and PIU with me before and always jokes that he could kill me in both tongue.gif. His hearing/reaction time aren't the best tho so he doesn't play it as much as he should but man oh man can he dance (off the machin that is)

All My Siblings(Too Many of em' E13.gif): they all think its really cool and pretty much all of them play it except for my older sister (shes like 20 something) and my youngest brother (hes only two but he likes to stomp on the pad to the best of his ability at home)

Thats aboo tit
