Hey all
I bought a DDRNation v2.0 Ignition Pad from www.ddrnation.com/products.htm.

Within a month, it has become totally useless. The arrow sensors just randomly get stuck down during every single song, making it totally unplayable. I've tried taking the foam inserts out, and playing without them - it doesn't help at all.

This is driving me CRAZY. If you know what I can do to fix this, I would be INCREDIBLY grateful if you'd help me out.

Thanx

Oh, P.S.: I e-mailed them about a week ago. The bastards haven't responded, and I don't really expect them to. grrr frust.gif

if i were you check the warranty/gurantee and see if you can send it back. There is nothing much else to do but sell it and get a new [BETTER] one to play wtih.

Yeah, I took all the necessary precautions to make sure that no harm came to it.....i.e., extreme temperatures, lots of abuse, etc. It never got beat up or mistreated.

However, I did not mod it at all. The pad worked so nicely at first that I didn't think it would require it. Perhaps I was wrong, but I am pretty confident that nothing I did to the pad is the cause of its poopy performance.

yeah, well, 20-20 hindsight, right?

however, since I made the questionable decision of NOT modding it...any ideas on how to fix it?

ok........modding it is not going to fix it

unless by modding it you mean cutting it apart and fixing the circuitry and/or wiring that's screwed up

it needs major surgery, and I was wondering if anybody had successfully achieved this on a soft/ignition/DX pad, or if anyone had any advice to offer before I cut open a $40 pad

It seems that your problem is sticky arrows. As you can see here, modding fixes that. If you haven't even tried modding, don't say it won't fix it. If you bought your pads off eBay, or DDRNation, modding is the only way to go. What floor are you playing on? Playing with no insert on a carpet floor won't fix anything. Try doing:

TommyGun's mod:
http://www.extremespin.com/tommy/ddr/

Taric25's mod:
http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20550

Need_a_hug_744's mod:
http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20550

Or, if you don't want to do those (they all work), just do a simple chairmat or plywood mod.
