Hey everyone, I've been planning to start up a Bemani Club at my college (Pace University) when I enter in the coming fall, and am trying to hammer out the details as early as possible. To begin with, what do you think would be a good name for the group as I noticed that all funded groups have pretty official names despite not doing much(I was thinking Delta Delta Rho).
Secondly, they require a constitution, and for anyone who has done this sort of thing before, what do you all think would look good for that?
Thank you all, I shall build several churches in your honor, or at least a Bemani club... |

Pace University, eh? Are you in NYC?
Anyway, I've thought about starting a DDR club at my school as well (Princeton), we've got some decent players and a quite good PAer (skip of Atlanta). I know there's DDR clubs at Cornel and Iowa State... They might be able to help you out.
There must be tons of University students on these DDRFreak boards. Any advice on DDR clubs would be much appreciated... Thanks. _________________

We have a DDR club in upstate ny Adirondack Community College...
..about the consitution.. they were really pissy about ours and we just wanted our club.. so we took their example consitution and just rehashed it for DDR Club....
Ummm as for a name.. we just use DDR Club.. lol.. but then again we are only a 2 year college.. but.. never the less... Since we have formed we have gotten a ps2, memcard, ddrmax, 2 modded softpads....
...and we play in a lecture hall over a 70,000 audio system and a really big projection screen
...any more questions just shoot |

I will be in the NYC Campus, yes.
I'm only thinking of creating a good name because all of the clubs sound really official, and that bothers me. Honars societies getting greek letters and all. Anyway, to those who do have groups, could you post your constitution so I can get a sence of what to write.
P.S. I'm also starting a Forensics team and my friend is creating the improve team, so we need the constitution-y bit for many things... |

Good to see players at various campuses are getting organized... Now if only there was some sort of intercollegiate tournament or competition, that would be really cool.
Maybe eventually DDR will become a NCAA recognized sport? That'll be the day... _________________

LOL That will definitely be the day...just imagine if instead of basketball, Michael Jordan had to play Maxx Unlimited heavy against Shaquile O'Neal! If we are lucky, Shaq would break the arrow panels! |

Campus Face-offs would be a very interesting proposition... But I'm not sure if I can add my school to the list without help of poster's like you (I feel like I'm running a telathon) so this is just my friendly topic booster to see if anyone will be able to lend a hand here.
I'd just like to see the DDR College coastal tourny brackets flying around high schools, that would be nice... |

If you're going Greek with your names, make sure that there aren't any actual frat names with that name, or you're going to have some serious mixups and complications.
Secondly, Delta Delta Rho, when written out, looks more like DDP than DDR. Might I suggest Delta Delta Gamma instead.
However, I'd suggest dropping the Greek altogether and giving it an equally-pretentious but non-frat-sounding name like the Rhythm-Gaming Society ("Riggs" for short, maybe?) _________________

I did check it out and wasn't able to find a frat by the name, and technically spelled out it would be triangle triangle P, but I see your point nonetheless.
Riggs is interesting, but not quite right... let's work on that vain shall we? _________________
