Just to clarify (and provide closure) on the whole no-Effector issue, it's affirmed pretty clearly at the official page that it is universally disabled.
After filtering this through this, you get:

Effect
An effect function cannot be used in beatmania IIDX 9th style.
When volume is small, please ask of the man of a store to enlarge.

So what is the word on Quasar? Worthy song for OutPhase?
... can't wait for the Westland, MI arcade to get this machine even if I won't be able to personally see it for a few months after the fact. |

the MACHINE itself is a bootleg?! jesus. but anyway, what's really the point of getting the game if we can't use the cards along with it? they're kinda important to the overall experience while playing. _________________

You really think a location in Michigan will get a 9th style machine? To my knowledge, there still is no IIDX in Michigan. I am starting to doubt the chance of there ever being one. _________________

Supposedly, and arcade in michigan was going to get 7th style, but they got BM III 7th mix, but the arcade owner is still interested in getting IIDX in the future. SUpposedly they got in contact with AI and they should be able to order one. ANd then again, I could totally be making this up... |

American Fun Center

I visited here last weekend and spent about 5 hours and $26 playing Beatmania III 7th. Finally.
There was an appearent screw-up with the ordering and they were supposed to get 7th Style but got BM3 instead. However, they also said that they'll just "get the new one". When leaving, I asked the operator about it, he told me that they do expect "the new IIDX, but it just came out, so it won't be here for another month or so". So yeah I think they're getting a IIDX of some sort and this did just come out. *shrugs*
I believe you're right on the no-IIDX status in MI otherwise. It's like that in IL too. Lord knows I'd hunt it down.

well there you go, I was two minutes late too.
So uh. Yeah. Go 9th Style. |

If Westland Mall does get IIDX 9th style, I'll drive there every weekend during school(it's only about 45 minutes away from MSU). I heard about the IIDX incident and them getting BMIII 7th instead... but, that exact kind of error is very typical of many arcades I've been in contact with. They claim to get stuff in a month... haha... but that never happens. In December my arcade in East Lansing said that they'd have an Extreme machine in a month... a month from December... and they finally got it in in JUNE.
If they do get 9th style, I'm going to die. I can't wait! _________________

Quote: | I got a different take when I used Babelfish on that page and treid to read it. Yes, the cards do unlock some songs, but it seems like you can unlock all of the songs on any card -- the unlock order is what's different for each card. It seems like after you play so many songs you get the two songs for the given style of your card, and then you get the songs from the next version. This pattern repeats until you get the 9th style unlock, where it loops back and starts at 1st style until all of the songs are unlocked.
That would certainly make more sense, since having certain cards only access certain songs would be really annoying. | Yep, the page does say that, and to confirm it I finally unlocked Minimalian on my 3rd Style card. YEY :-)
I think it's going to take a lot of money to get to be able to play Genom Screams Another, though >.<. _________________
