Okay, so I've heard that DJ Station Pros should be about $50, but the only place I see to buy them is ToysNJoys, for higher than that. Where do you get them for the decent price? I wouldn't mind a used one if it was in good shape.

Does anyone know anything about this Guitar Freaks controller? I want a Konami one, but no one seems to have them for sale, so I'm considering going with this. The price is very attractive, but I'm afraid that's an indicator of the quality. However, I wouldn't mind trying the game before I buy a $100 Konami one, anyways. We don't have anything at arcades around here, so it'd be cool to check out first. Back on topic though, does it work well right out of the box? Is the quality good? Are there any necessary modifications I need to do? Thanks E1.gif.

PepsiBlueOwen, the price does reflect the quality. I bought two awhile back. The first broke the next day, the 2nd lasted quite awhile. They are made of flimsy plastic and have poor wiring. You have to open them up (one of the screws in behind a damn sticker frust.gif ) every now and then to align the string buttons. My guitar that lasted a while had bad wires in the cable, so I had to cut it open and fix that, but eventually it just stopped working.

If you know you love GF and will play it a lot, go for the official. If you think you want to try it out first before shelling out for the Konami controller, go for this topway one.

That would be pretty neat to see, do you have pictures? Do the tennis balls "implode" when you push them in or something?

(warning: it's hi-res)

The tennis ball halves are glued down to circles of cardboard, which are then glued down to keys. I used Household Goop for all of it. Occasionally I stick a couple of other keys underneath the buttons for support, making sure that I disable the keys beforehand.

Unfortunately, I don't have a PS2 so I'm stuck using Feeling Pomu. And since FP doesn't let you remap the keys, I have to have a .reg file so that I can change my keyboard's mapping scheme whenever I want to play frown.gif

If anyone's interested, I'll gladly post which keys I'm using and the registry key I use to change the mappings to work with FP (WinXP only)

Thanks! I was checking out these sites and stuff, but everything's kinda expensive riiight.gif; I dunno if I should get one, or not.. I have no idea lol. I did have a question on the Keyboard Mania controller, though. It says at Toys 'n Joys that you need a JP PS2 to use the Konami one, and I wanted to know if that was true. I've got a PS2 with a DMS3 ver.2 in it, and I really wanted to try it. Please advise. Thanks!

I'm not sure...

How much does the KBM controller cost? You may be better off getting a cheap MIDI keyboard and buying a MIDI->USB adapter. It'll cost you about the same (maybe a bit more), and you get a working keyboard thrown in!

Would they have the wheel though? Oh, and I think I'd just go with the KBM controller, but damn, I really want to know if it'll work >_<...

I thought I had it all set by reading this thread but now I'm confused, I want to buy one of the official beatmania controllers to play IIDX on my ps2. I came across an auction on ebay that said I needed a psx to usb adapter to use it. This isn't true is it? Second question, although it is not sensible, can I play IIDX on a regular ps2 controller? If I'm going to shell out $50-$70 on a game, I can't afford the controller right away. Can I at least hear the songs, ect by playing with a regular controller.

Starsephiroth, You don't need anything other than the IIDX controller and game to play it on PS2 and you can use a normal PS2 controller to play.

Now I have a question can you use 2 IIDX controllers or 1 IIDX and 1 5 key controller to play doubles on 5 key bm?

I have a problem with my IIDX controller, i've filed the key rectangles so the key's wouldnt stick. But now the key's stick because the little pieces of plastic inside the controller, those that are under the keys so when you push the keys the plastic bends and makes the controller respond (those little plastic circles with black dots in the middle). I'm wondering if anyone knows how to fix this, and if not i guess i'm going to go to the marketplace and try to buy these little round things. If someone has any way to help me please IM me thanks.

Controllers are universal I believe (play on jap or modded US). I have a DMS3 v2 also and have used other bemani controllers that work fine. I did have problems with my drummania one, but that was b/c it is Topway, not Konami. E15.gif

Most people say you need a jap ps2 for this stuff, but modded US ps2 is the same thing for the most part.

Okay, thanks. I was just a bit conserned because it was a USB thing, etc. I dunno what I'm gonna get next; GF controller (probably the best idea) since I have a Konami DM one and GF3rd + DM 2nd and GF 4th + DM 3rd are both on their way, or just get a cool Keyboard Mania controller with Keyboard Mania, and maybe 2nd + 3rd, too... That or PPP.. Damn, too many choices >_<.
