Some people say that the thing they love most about DDR is that it has some great tunes. Others love DDR for the popularity and thee uprising competition, and the many others who just have a passion for the game. I'm interested in finding out which group most people fall into, or even an unlisted group. I myself am a competitor and strive to become the best at DDR but alot of the times I like just having fun and freestyling.

I'm a competitor too, but there's a lack of accessible competition in my area.. I'll have to come across to america, then i'll see how good i really am (in other words, i'll set foot in an arcade and get pwned riiight.gif )

I like the fact that I am playing a video game, yet I am excercising at the same time. I like when I playing a fast tough song that I am kicking buttocks on, and having a crowd of people who dont know how to play just staring at what I am doing with awe. I like the tunes, I like how it gives me more rythm.

Yeah, thats more then one, but theres too many things I like about DDR. I have been 3 months and I am a complete addict lol.

I like the way DDR gives you a workout but makes it fun. Even though DDR requires effort and perserverence in order to get a workout from it, it is still a very fun thing to play. And you really get wrapped in improving your skills despite the challenge that just gets harder and harder.

meeting new people........and the people i've met through DDR are very respectable towards each other, regardless of skill level, and the diversity of those that play is interesting to me............

i have also met more people who I can call friends playing DDR than i have actually in life.......seriously, it's sad but true......

DDR rocks my world because I am absolutley in love with slutty dance music. DDR has poppy little fun dance tracks that are fun to listen to for a minute and a half. The really good ones are fun to listen to three times in a row to get a decent song length. E1.gif Musically I love dance, trance, technoy stuff, and just a tiny slice of hip-hop. DDR has this exact combination for me. I love it.

Before I got into DDR, whenever I listened to music I instinctivly kept the beat. With my hands, with my feat, with my fingers, just whatever. DDR is a game you play just by keeping the beat. Fun. biggrin.gif

there is nothing like the feeling of pride after you clear 3 catas in a row (EE, R&P, and HVAM) after struggling on them for forever. plus there is the exercise and of course the crowds standing in awe after a killer set of songs.

The people I meet playing it. DDR can be a great way to meet friends if the machine has enough people surrounding it.

Crowds and the overall feeling of accomplishment when you hit a new personal goal also contribute, but I think at this point it's about the people.

One reason I like DDR so much is it's a game you can never truely "beat", there always is something you can improve upon wheter it be AAAing songs or 6 Optioning them there is always a new challenge.

I agree with a lot of what's been said in this thread - it's cool to have so much fun and be getting excercise, too... I've always liked dancing, so that's a plus. And of course, (though I haven't really been able to do it yet) who wouldn't want to get a crowd in the arcade watching them? E15.gif

The best part of DDR --> The Panels

Seriously, it's a fact of life..... buttons are fun to press. C'mon press your space bar over and over again repeatedly and see. Now imagine a computer with 4 space bars that were as large as your foot.... And that these spacebars had arrows on them and lit up when you stepped on them. I buy a keyboard like that if they made one.

Buttons are fun to press.

Well personally I love ddr for the on going challenge of beating the songs on different settings I also like ddr for the competition, not to mention all the friends you make from just playing a video game. E1.gif

I believe Master of Darkness put it best in his Hardcore test...

"I play DDR to physically prove once and for all that playing video games requires skill, dedication, and focus and that it IS a talent! " That basically sums up my reason for playing DDR. I love the challenge. I also like to challenge other people. There are so many aspects to ddr but the thing that keeps me hooked is that you can compete. Not only is it fun for just dancing, but DDR is also designed for competition (wether it be freestyling, PAing, or even comedy biggrin.gif ) And the great thing is, it gives me a chance to get out of the house sometimes and just socialize with friends who play laugh.gif
