Ok to wear shoes on a soft pad?

I've always played with socks on with my pad but I think I would do better with shoes, is it ok to do this?

i would mod it first...if you dont the pad bunches up real bad

my friend used his shoes on a pad and had no problem, just make sure to have them brand new or clean.

Heh. I once read someone's web site that told people that it was best to wear "the heaviest shoes you can find, or, even better, heavy BOOTS" when playing at home on a soft pad.
