|
|
Hey, I'm deciding what pads to get for carpet play. I heard that playing on metal pads on carpet warps the pad, but I haven't heard anything bad about playing with the ignitions on carpet. Can anyone help me out here? Or give me a carpet mod for the ignition and/or metal pad? Thanks. |

I can't speak for Ignition 2.0s as I don't have any (yet), but playing on carpet and without proper modding can -seriously- shorten the lifespan of your Ignition 1.0. The 1.0s have the soft white foam, and repeated playing without modding can leave permanent indentions in the foam. You can feel where the foam droops down after a while.
As for 'carpet modding', I have both my pads velcro'd to a wooden board. The bottom side of the wooden board (the part that touches the carpet) has foam grippy shelf liner glued to it. They hardly scoot around now, though they still scoot a little bit.
Hope that helps! |

Hmm, should I just save some money and mod two ignition pads, or should I spend a little more and buy two CypherGames pads? |

my suggestion, go with the ignition and mod them, probably your best way to go with carpets, i just use my old folding table and tapped it to the top [pad = 4 yrs old and no glitces][/quote] |

Would doing the chair-mat mod help the problem of playing on carpet at all? No, probably wouldn't would it...
I'm planning on buying the "Deluxe DDR Ignition Dance Pad V.2" from levelsix... and will probably be playing in front of my computer, which has a chair mat on the *floor* in front of it... should I be worried? _________________
