How come people say that DDR will die soon just cause Konami has nothing to add to a new mix(mods, modes, etc) that will keep players hooked, for me the new songs in the new mix are enough, anybody feel the same? _________________

Kakumei, it sounds like you've never played any online games and have never been in a clan for a game before....
When nothing new is on the horizon, people just assume its dead. Often with a game, people complain about changes to the game they don't agree with (whether it is for the better or worse).
Saying a game is going to "die" should be considered shorthand for "I feel I've reached my limit and the game isn't being changed to suit my needs." ..... but with DDR, very few people will ever reach their absolute limit.
BTW, I love ur sig... Love Hina > All ^___^

Hopefully DDR will live forever, but of course there will be some time it won't. I feel that the songs are plenty, but then again I have a notion that Konami is going to conjure up another mix due to high demand. How can you ever assume you've beaten DDR? I feel when I beat DDR is when I AAA every single song on every single mode. Also getting all marls on every oni course too, which is impossible so there is always something to improve on. Also the new DDRXbox will have on-line capabilities so you can actually play or players around America. I can't wait.... |

People say DDR is dead probably because they had personally grown tired of it and want people to side with them to justify their cause. I say that Pac-Man is dead, but then there would still be a community of players who would shun me for saying that.
And changes to the game are usually not as well-recieved as you would think. Remember DDR Max? Yeah, that's what I thought. _________________

As long as Konami makes DDR, it not going to be the same... it may grow old on us eventually, but as long as we enjoy it right now... I mean, c'mon, can you see yourself still playing DDR at 40 years old? Probably not. They keep adding new stuff, and technically, it won't get old until Konami decides to stop its production of new machines, but I don't see our generation living DDR... but I could be wrong... who knows?
This reminds me of a little fad not too long in our past... remember Pokémon? Everybody was into it for about 2 years or so... and now it has gotten old. So we stopped fooling around with it and dropped it. I'm not saying DDR will meet a similar fate... and I hope it doesn't. It's just a possibility.
As for new mods and modes, Nonstop was recently brought back in Extreme, and Brake was added in the Trick Oni course. The songs are the best part, though. It won't get old to me, hopefully... I don't see how it could look boring and stupid to me in the future. _________________

Not when I'm 40, but certainly it could pose as a past-time when I'm 20. Pokemon was never good. People may think so, but it truly sucked due to what they did to the show, which def. had the major influence on the crowd. As long as Konami continues with fresh new songs, new mods, new modes, and such I don't see why this can't still be popular in about 5 years from now. Personally, from what I've witnessed is more and more people are getting into DDR and I America certainly hasn't hit its peak for its popularity yet. Thinking back to Pokemon they changed everything. Notice how all they do is fight "bad guys" and the characters are a bunch of fags who's primary goal is to help others.
Now Yugioh! is a cool show |

DDR has already lasted a lot longer than people have said it should have. It's really hard to say how long DDR is going to last.
However if Konami stops making arcade mixes, DDR will only last a few months longer. Let's hope they don't make this foolish decision to only make home mixes. |

..but they don't make you spin and puke, and they are very very fun. I would constantly use those modifiers, and I'm sure my other friends would use them often. |

Seconed that.
DDR will last how ever long you make it last.
You may have your home version and still play, and mabey a Machine when it's been dead for most people for a long time.
I know a couple of people who still like Pokemon alot, because they think the TCG's cool, and the cards are ALOT easier to get than Yugioh cards.
I'm probaly thinking I'll never quit, but it will mostly likely be a thing of the past a long ways away. (Besides, Half-Life 2 is coming on Setember 10th, and I might get alot setracted(however you spell it)frm my normal DDr Routines) _________________

You hear that Chomp-Chomp? They said Pac-Man is dead!
*bark! snarl!*
I'd say DDR is nearly dead. Most people already have become hooked on the game (and tired of it) or have decided it is too gay and refuse to try it. When it dies, I will let it go without a fight.
The home versions could use some really fun TRICK-ONI style courses, and challenge steps, etc for added replay value. Even on the controller, that would be a LOT of fun! |

Well you live in a diff region than I do. In America it seems to be much more popular and I see almost every week new people playing it. This is just my opinion, but I seriously think DDR has yet to peak. |
