Ok.....you guys......LEARN TO READ!!!
This isn't being done in any arcade..... The mall that this thing stops at could have no arcade at all!!
The tour has their OWN 4th Solo machines that they are using, and they're setting them up in like the center court of the mall or something... Arcades have nothing to do with this.
For the under 18 complainers: No offense, but get over it! Think about the legal ramifications that could happen if you injured yourself playing. ABC is looking to cover their own asses. Plus the whole Vegas party thing, to which you have to be 18+ to get into the party. (i know because I went there when I was in Vegas last year....very nice place)
Again.....listen to what Praster has to say, because he's the guy running it. You're not gonna get on TV with this. This isn't geared toward the DDR community. Hell....it's not even a REAL tournament. The only plus side is the SMALL possibility that MC Hammer might be at your local mall to watch you dance to funny arrows. That's it.
As I said.....all this is is a chance to go to Vegas for me. Nothing else. And that's fine with me. =) |

I think people might be getting upset because with DDR Freak.com posting a link to a telivision show's web site called Dance Fever the first thing that comes to people minds is that they have gone and made a TV show about DDR. Obviously they aren't (yet ) but the majority of people who use message boards love to jump to conclusions that are even slightly implied and post stupid rants about imagined things. So I think that DDRFreak.com posting a link to this was a bad idea and encoraged a message board "flame" or whatever you call it. This is obvously not about DDR, even if somewhere in all this nonsense a DDR machine is being umm, "used"?, so really it shouldn't be a Headline at DDRFreak.com. Boys, take it down. |

Of course I'm going to complain about not being 18! Who doesn't want to be on national TV?!?
I'll show up (or try to) just to hang with MC Hammer and to play free 4th Mix for four hours. Not to mention the huge crowds that this show is going to bring...
The Maniac song idea is pretty screwed up...but it's not that bad if you just practice the songs at home with the sound turned down. _________________

Pardon us for making an attempt at trying to let the general public know about what is currently the most widespread tournament opportunity ever. We have not mislead anyone - if you'll notice, we linked DIRECTLY to the Mall tour page, not to the main Dance Fever page.
Our concern is providing the information to our fellow DDRers for these tournaments, whether they be DDR machines (according to Praster) or not. _________________

I Won't Believe That You Have To Be 18 To Enter This Tournement Till I See It On An Official Site About This Tournement. I'd Also Like To Address That I'm Not Whining, I'm Questioning The Truth To Some Of The Statements. Also, The 12-4 Free Play, Would That Apply To All The Locations On The Tour? |

what part of No! do you guys do not get about no freestyle?
Also all these events will be held in the center of the mall. Not the arcade of the mall.
To answer FTY's q, well when abc family bought these machines, they got permission from Konami to use them in any way they wanted. I mean acourse they had to ask Konami or risk being sewed.
Vega - All rounds of the competition will be highest points. _________________

Assuming they were actually *bought* and not just rented from Konami(and I guess you'd buy it if you had to ship it overseas ), ABC Family and co. will probably want to sell them off afterwards. Result? More DDR over here |

actually they plan to keep the machines in a storage place in st. louis because they might be needed them in the future. They already have a 7th mix stored away until further use of it _________________

What was this machine's prior usage?
If they wanted to make them useful, they could send them to the Disney parks... or they could have used the DDR machines from those parks for this...
Edit: 'Nother question: Is it 6 machines total that will be used, or 6 at each location? |

Zeus: That's exactly correct. The machine will have Make a Jam on there, and they're turning the machine volume off, and synching some "custom" song over it, that has the same BPM. But this is old news....
Finally....a REAL question....
Praster: The machines.......are they the ones with the elevated panels, or the flat ones that feel like you're playing on a homepad..... |

something about this whole thing makes me think this is for all the freestylers. they're going to want people to dance, not play ddr. _________________
