DDR Manga 2-- The 10K Commotion

Hey, Just read through the end of second stage and just wanted to compliment the awesome job done. The story, art, ad the characters are all really well done. I can't wait for the third stage.

This manga reminds me why I started and continue to play DDR today.

Man, I love this story. When you publish this, I'm going to be the first one to beg you for an autograph on the copy I buy, Makoto. I swear... I'll travel to Japan to get it; it'd be a double bonus.

thanks guys! whew! I'm so tired! between the tourney all day Saturday and 10K Commotion all day Sunday I'm beat-- but it's worth it if people like what's going on.

speaking of which, here's da link:

Second Stage: The Away Team is finally finished! w00t!

I tried something new to keep Scott's language from getting too offensive (I know lots of people don't like Scott, but he's important to the story, especially later

and I didn't want to water him down.)

Saiyajin... I'm really glad you still like it. I know some people are shocked/surprised/unhappy about the story, although I'm confused since I don't know what they expected the story to be about, ya know?

it's just about 10 characters who play DDR. I'm not sure if people would rather see them do kung fu or make cookies or what... so i'm just sticking with my story and if people like it, cool... but if not, oh well.

and Violet, I'll be sure to keep you updated especially since we probably didn't meet by pure accident... it's a small planet and the Pacific isn't really that big so I could run into you anywhere... you never know! I'm really glad I braved that tourney because the cool people I met were worth the few uncool paths I crossed.

Anyway, I'm packing and moving so chapter 3 won't start the coming weekend, I'll have something else up though... next update mo yoroshiku!

That's so incredible.

I have a confession to make. Honestly I had interest in this comic until I met you. I always thought that, this would just be another wrap down the street. But now that my heart is open, this comic is not only awesome and well laid out, but it's so freaking incredible I'm so amazed. I believe that with a passion comes a heart with that passion. The author that didnt have the heart to back their work, is art not worth remembering. When I talked to you, you had an open heart and now that heart matches the quality of the work, I'm going to be looking into this more than I've ever imagined...that's incredible. I love the story behind it...no wonder so many...

If you were that girl at the Long Beach Tournament who entered for PA, I say mad congrats. It think it was gutsy, plus terrific song choice (Daikenkai Oni). Sorry I didn't say hi... so umm.. HI!

Been reading fer a long time, first time commenting. Great comic. Great art, great writing.

The only thing negative about it is the mis-spelling of the word 'seamless' (as I'm the second person to point that out).

oh man, Makoto, this is farking incredible! I love your drawing style and you did an amazing job with the coloring too! I seriously love it. I might go so far as to say your style reminds me of Yoshitaka Amano with grafitti influence. I also really like the way you drew the playing of DDR, how we're not just watching the people's feet the whole time. While it'd be interesting to see people bust some crazy moves out in a freestyle frenzy, the way you did it is a lot more dramatic. I also like the character interactions. I was hoping Kakumei Kid was gonna bust Chaser's lip open for the "research", but the way you handled that was equally great. I can't wait to see what develops next. j00 R t3h r ock!1111111

OMIGOSH! I just finished reading the end of the second stage... this sux big monkey butt! I have to leave for 2 weeks and wont be able to read!

OMG... I'm like... WOW! You know I want the second copy of it when it comes out, ne? Since you should be the first one to have it... but I'm gonna be first in line for the autograph, even if I have to fly to Japan, I WILL be first in line!!! And I so can't wait to get back so I can read more... I don't wanna go tomorrow! lol...

Violet, you SO made my day... ha ha! I know if I'd never seen this and someone told me they made a manga with DDR in it, I'd think "oh great what the world needs is more webcomics" but if people's minds can change about it, then it's worth keeping it up

And FOB Alex, I totally remember you! Especially since you were warming up just before me and I was thinking "holy cow, that guy sure seems to be PAing my pants off, even with one foot in a brace

My appearance at Long Beach wasn't "gutsy" as much as "naive"... I had NO idea how many true maniacs there are in this area! (But yeah, I was sure tired of A and 321 stars by then so I said "Nobody's done Daikenkai yet? I'm doing it!" ha ha)

guys, thanks for commenting-- I'm always glad to hear people like my work...

DJzen, I guess you're right about the Amano look! I never really thought about it, but I guess since I don't ink it and just put watercolor over the pencil, it ends up kinda like concept art (or something...)

ha ha! Kel-- have a good trip and don't worry, I'm traveling soon too, so you probably won't miss much before you get back

Ia gree with the alternate censor bars. If it was just black it would have sucked, but I think the alternate text was hilarious and made it funnier if he just said what he really said, if you can understand that.

Hmmmmmmm a traveling artist. Nothing more romantic than that. If I were a traveling artist fluent in the arts, I'd find a woman, bond with her, catch her in my romantic spell, and write about her non stop and the next day leave and leave her heart in suspense!
