I know SF wasn't very close, but to me it's not too far away to send the PS2. Beefman, will the PS2 boot at all? |

I see. It's not the distance that I'm concerned but rather the shipping cost + insurance both ways.
Well, I'll ask around in the South California board. Thanks anyway. _________________

I finally got my PS2 back from SF. The guy did a good job. I thought he was going to keep it when he said "Good Luck". Now I can finally go to sleep tonight. _________________

Well, even illegitimate chips work well when installed correctly. If you are 100% you installed your chip correctly, you probably bought a dud. Where did you buy it? _________________

It looks like a fake 3.1 on Easybuy. A real Magic 3.1 is blue. |

Ok a quick question for everyone.
Which modchip is the most reliable and easy to install? I'm looking for a chip that can play backup and import PS2 Games. _________________

Easy to install = unreliable.
You are better of just paying someone to install a modchip, namely one of the "Big Three" (Magic 3.1, Messiah 2, DMS3). _________________

I've heard but shitty feedback about those; that it's easy to break something internally trying to plug it in. Besides, it cant boot originals. _________________

This has been asked but not answered. How do I use the disc change option in 2nd and 3rd mixes? I have an older PSX with a Goldfinger plugged into the port in the back. |

Without a physical mod, you'd have to do a well-timed live swap after inserting the new disc. Not practical unless you're using to live swapping (I did it for 2+ years before finally getting a game enhancer). _________________
