So...

For the summer I'm working at a day care where kids go after they get out of gymnastics camp. There's nothing really to do there besides weak bored games and draw pictures on paper with crayons. Hella boring.

I asked my boss if I could bring in DDR equipment (PSX2, DDRMAX, 2 Ignition 2.0's) and she said OK even though I knew she didn't really understand what I was talking about when I explained it. "As long as they're not sitting down pushing buttons," she said.

So, I set up the equipment, matched them up in pairs based on skill level (either "new and would understand", or "too young to comprehend DDR"), set up the order of who goes when, and let them play. Needless to say, they love it.

It's hella fun, I just sit there watching kids play DDR and give them tips, and that's my job. I used to have to discipline these kids because they had a ton of energy to spare and had to sit around so they would often act out. Now all that extra energy and emotion turns to sweat. E7.gif

And when there's only one kid left, you all know who get's to be player 2. E4.gif

DDR is always a good way to get energy out. and it's good when children don't have energy.

Helping kids is fun, I like to see the look on the face of a happy child after you have helped them do something.

Good work on the Daycare job and making those kids happy.

It's still pretty wonderful, I'm very thankful for the oppurtunity.

I think that this is a good way to get DDR out in the public some more, and help people see how good it can be and it's not just like "every other video game".

DDR used to be a totally seperate world than my normal life, I would hang out with my friends, then go play DDR and hang out with DDR Freaks. Now it's cool because lots of new people are trying DDR and enjoying themselves.

It's really funny to hear a 6 year old humming Sana Morette. E1.gif

In Las Vegas Sunset Station has a DDR Max. There is only one tiny problem. It's not in the Arcade! Instead its in the Daycare area in which I have no access to. To make it even worse.....Its on freeplay! *shakes fist.* Lucky Kids!

I do that everyday. Bust out the JPS2 and CF pads then let my kids have at it. It's the only way I can get some peace. *marks off another day on the calendar till they are all out of the house*

What's annoying is hearing my 4 year old constantly singing Pink Dinosaur. And yes he does have a small toy pink dinosaur. Someone save me.
