First of all, I'd like to hi to everyone since I'm new here. I've been coming to this site for a while but hadn't joined the Forums yet.

I don't know if anyone has does this yet, but I thought I'd make a Post where you can submit your own term for the DDR Dictionary. Today I was playing at Peter Pipers, and when I sat down I felt perfectly fine, but I noticed these flashy colors that appeared to look like arrows flashing in the corner of my eye. I had been playing DDR almost all day at my house, and I guess that was too much for today. I decided to call this a case of "Arrow Eye," so by definition...

Arrow Eye - When you've played too much DDR, and you can see the arrows flashing by in the corner of your eye or in front of you.

On behalf of veggie, myself, and others in the Atlanta area, I submit the following:

Choding/Choded - Getting the same number of perfects and greats in a song. You know what the term reffers to.

Ex: "Aww man.... I choded that song with 115 perfects and 115 greats!"

Snake Steps = Afronova Steps

Unintentionally getting more greats on a song than perfects = Nubbing it up

Intentionally getting more greats on a song than perfects = grandmaster at ddr

Line Dance = When two or more people beside or behind the DDR machine follow along with the arrows like they are playing the game.

I might imagine myself stepping, but I don't actually do it! disturb.gif

I had a dream like that... I was playing at some mall or something and over a hundred people were behind me, following every step. I have very weird dreams nowadays...

You know, for some people, greats does mean they're doing good... disgust.gif Not everbody can be perfect. E7.gif

I don't really have a term, but when my friends play on heavy, doing stuff like Max 300 or Legend of Max, I just stand there and call them crazy. Mainly cause I can't do it though. E7.gif

Anticipating: usually done by new players. either pressing the button too early, or holding your foot over the arrow and slowly tilting down towards it to make sure you hit it on time

Sucking: touching the middle part of the pad at any time during play

Tom-dancing: When you get so many boos that your bar depletes (only works with auto-fail off, obviously) so you start spinning like an idiot and pressing random buttons

I hate that because it messes me up!! THis one time some weirdo jumped up next to me and danced with me... It makes me look at him instead of the screen and I do bad. frust.gif

BumPlaying is also known as "Shadowing". In these cases ~DDR~JL, there
is also a term known as "BumRushing". Whenever a 'tard like the one you describe
starts "Bumplaying", just RUSH at 'em with HEAVENLY FORCE so that they fall flat on
their ARSE. Believe me, I've done it plenty a time and have never been bothered again.
If they don't have the common courtesy to ask if they can "Shadow", then you have
every right to do whatever you want to them without asking E13.gif .

I like your term Arrow Eye. Arrow Eye is fun and dizzying... like drugs.... only not as dangerous.

My contributions:

Pad Screw - A cause of bad preformance in DDR caused by super unresponsive soft pads.

Crab Dance - A new kind of freestyle (that my friend invented, and no one knows about yet), where you lie on your back across one pad, lift yourself up with your hands, and dance sideways on the other pad.

The crab dance isn't the most fun dance style to watch, but it is rather confusing, as you're playing the game sideways.

that's when you tell the person to get off. you don't need to look at them. Just... hit them hard. but on beat!! xD

Six-option! I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it yet, since last I checked it wasn't in the dictionary. (Maybe I didn't look hard enough; it was, like, yesterday.)

1.5x, Shuffle, Boost, Dark, Hidden, Reverse.

Residual Arrows: Seeing arrows when you close your eyes (esp. in the car, listening to the radio)

Era-sised: Having the last step of the song be on a beat far slower than the rest of the song (for not good reason) Taken from Era(nostal)'s last step.

MFer(I think you know what it stands for): A seeming random stop in a song. I.E. HVAM, So Fabulous, So fierce.

Wall: A stream of arrows at low speed on 12beats or higher (meaning like, 16ths). See Bag(1x) or Ska a go go(standard).

'What just happened?': Failing a song tword the beginning, then finishing with a full bar (versus only)

Basic Mooch: Having your partner play on basic while you attempt a song you haven't passed before.

2S4R2BDS: Playing with one too many mods. As in: Why the hell are you 2S4R2BDSing that thing?! You've never even passed it normal!

Hmm... That's all I can think of for now.

Outcast - The final arrow(s) of a song that come well after you think the song is done so sometimes you'll turn away or walk off the machine thinking you have finished the song. But that one solitary step sneaks up and you miss. Pathetically enough xDD An example of an outcast: Final step of era and final step of Dam Dariram (heavy)
