I don't remember Gamelan De Couple being very hard. But then again I haven't played it since it came out... AND all it is is Pop'n Music w/ bongos instead of the buttons. Overall it's really fun. _________________

I decided to try it at AI once...
I played Gamelan de Couple on hard..
I had to hit all three drums at once for the first note..
So I promptly walked away to play more Pop'n 9. _________________

ROFL, I dont even know how you're suppose to do that. It's like 14 key without auto-scratch... o_O; |

you're not SUPPOSED to play 14key with autoscratch. Konami puts it there as a crutch for people who suck. _________________

We had a Mambo machine at our local arcade for a while but it has been removed recently (and I never beat Kreigheit on Very Hard!!). I really liked it but since it has such a poor song selection it got a little old kinda fast. It is a great game though, it would've been nice if Konami released another mix.

Gamelan De Couple is meant to be played by two people. But it's fun trying with one. _________________

Played it when I was in Hawaii. Maybe one of you could answer a question of mine about it.
I hit a "hidden beat" I guess, and a coin appeared on the side of the screen. This brought the total to 4 coins, but I have no idea what these do for the game.

I think the coins appear after getting a decent combo, but I'm not sure about that... They seem to appear ramdomly...
When someone gets the fifth coin, then the extra stage would happen after completing the last song (only one difficulity for extra stage). The coin count resets after doing extra stage.
I had Mambo at my old arcade for a while and it was a pretty fun game. There weren't that many songs though so it got boring after a while. The old arcade got rid of it and I still kinda miss it... oh well...
Oh, and in case you're wondering, the Extra Stage is 100 sec. Kitchen Battle... |
