You talk about the controller box or the circuit itself ??... its smaller than a normal joypad.... the controller box is big (blue or black thing over the circuit) but the circuit itself is really small and can go between the 2 2x4. | well i looked at it. it is going to be tricky with the ground though. caus all it is is the contacts over where they are and a peice of tape, with the contacts, mine being a NAKI pad, the ground and normal wire are so close together that they are almoste touching, i know that the fatter lines going accross the arrows on the pad are the ground wires for that button. _________________

yep I know... but you must drill a small hole near that spot and on some controller you have a small solder point that is near the crossed line...
but for a old softpad circuit board its a charm _________________

Wondering how I would do all this..I dont have much in the way of tools and I cant really think of anyone that does(a few people, but Id have to be desperate...we're not like best buds that help eachother with everything) But I do have all the major stores, home depot, lowes, walmart etc..And I know it'd be a lot easier to fix a pad if I put it together myself, but this is much different than my computer..a lot more of specific and exact measurements etc..So basically how easily can I do all of this with basic tools, hammer, screw drivers, drill..a few other things..and if theres anything I CANT do, such as cutting the metal(Im not sure what I could get to do that) and what are some other options of doing it..thanks for the help |

I love dumb cashiers at home depot ;-) Lets see here, I got everything but the acrylic/plexiglass. So I got the wood, sheetmetal, all the stanley corner brackets, screws etc, basically all the materials for 2 pads, for the low low price of 100 bucks tax included. hehehehehehe. Gotta love dumb cashiers once again. Its funny when u have a huge 4'x8' 3/4" thick birch plywood and the cashier thinks its particle board. hehe |

Got forced into trying ddr while I was on vacation with some people a couple months ago.. at the end of the week vacation I was stuffing a naki pad into my backpack on my way home.
Now that I'm getting into playing on standard, I want something more. Got all my parts ready to build myself a pad, got my control box all set & everything. Just printed off my 9 logos for each square that I found on posts here using a wide format printer and some glossy paper.
I've been going through post in here like mad trying to find more logos however.
My question is this. Just so I don't have to make my own simple design, does anyone have pics for select & start as I've decided to make a top row with select & start on the left & right, roughly 4" x 11" each. |

i'm a bit confused as to where the ground might be......and also the other buttons....heh, if anyone could help, that'd be great |

Anyone have the original PSD files of the "Classic" DDR arrow graphics from CanadAZN's site? It seems to be down and/or gone. |

So whose pad is easier to build, ddrhomepad or riptides? Also, whose would you consider to be a better pad? I am going to build one, but I am a complete newb at building things, so easier = better, but quality = important also. |

pin are on the right ( like a "E"...)
you know... the board - pin - the pad... 1 to 10...
1 Select
2 X (cross)
3 Left
4 /\ (triangle)
5 Down
GROUND
6 Up
7 [ ] (square)
8 Right
9 O (circle)
10 Start
i have nothing to do so ill make a easy Flash Animation with "all" the solder point of anything you need (PSX analog....3rd party... softmat)...
edit : finaly... no i will not make a flash movie... I canot find any good PCB pic of a topway pad (or other pad PCB..) and playstaiton too.. I want a realy good pic showing it right over ... if i got lot of spare time ill try to make small drawing... should be easyer because importing pic in flash is a pain in this buttocks ("tracing" the pic is the prob...) _________________

i can be of help ^^, im useing a naki pad but its the topway controler. going from the bottom of the pad, where the connecters are, reading left to right, first is start, then O, then right, then square, then up, then there sholud be the space where that big middle thing is the ground, then down, then triangle, then left, then x, then select. _________________

I jsut said the same thing.. without any picture in my last post.......
was a bit confusing but.. hehe
you must scratch the black thing before soldering to it (or its not working at all) and if it dont stick after scratching.. scrach more.. or put some kind of solder.... it sa old thing that my father cave to me ... like solder.. oil... it suck but did the work to stick the wire on the PCB board
edit : I jsut discovered that the button are writen down in the TOP view of the PCB ROFL !!!! its cleary writen : START (a small square).. hahahaha
there is no right and left.. but... hehe it was easy to know the other
edit 2 :
i finaly did something in flash (yep i got spare time now.. no more school)
http://membres.lycos.fr/csclanbef/DDR/PS%20wirring.html
this is only a "demo".. only left - up - down are "working" (put the mouse on it and wait)
its basicly ugly ... but its realy small and fast to load (no bitmap of PCB)
Edit 3 : Sony JoyPad is finish (in the flash movie) and Ive put a Tips.. im working on Topway pad Board now _________________
