No, they aren't 'rap songs', but they have a rap in them or a 'rap feel' (in the case of Daikenkai).

Yeah I know, I was just trying to make a point. I Actually like B4U, and Daikenkai tho they are both overplayed, but they are pretty cool.

... yeah, right. Like that's possible in the U.S. disturb.gif Try finding MP3s of music from DDR Club Mix. None of it is totally "rap", but a good few songs from the music there have an R&B-ish and rap feel to it.

Actually Dance Dance Revolution Extra Mix has much more rap and R&B in it then Club Mix. Even tho I just spent a post defending rap I don't really like any of the rap in Extra Mix except LtBHE and My Baby Mama E15.gif

Unfortunately not much rap music works well in DDR. There are a few that do but for the most part it doesn't fit and isn't that great to dance to. If Konami felt rap music worked in DDR it would have more rap music. And Konami knows best .. goog.gif

Another r&b/rap song nobody has mentioned : HYSTERIA riiight.gif and the HYSTERIA Oni version.

A lot of songs from Solo 2000, Club, and actually some of the songs that made it on Extreme from other Bemani games like "Feeling of love" or " Stay" have a R&B/Rapish feel to it. This is primarialy the reason I still love Solo 2000. For a while I was actually leaning more toward PIU than DDR since PIU used more hip-hop in it's selection of music. Yet I came back to DDR since most of the music is in english. E15.gif

Hmmmmmmm I'm dissapointed now that I think about it ; perhaps the best freestyle songs for me ARE rap songs or mainstream rap oriented from DDR. Perhaps the reason why I dont FS Much or think that rap mixes much ON DDR is because the rap songs is due to the strange BPM.

Like Hysteria is 190 BPM and should be 110-125 BPM instead...but I guess Konami is thinking. "Hell who Freestyles anymore? EVERYONE plays MANIAC/HEAVY!

Lets put Dropout... a 100 something BPM song and Make it 260!" Yeah! "Lets take an awesome song like Hysteria and make it 190 so noone can FS to it!" (that's how I think Konami is taking it) Because they know that there aren't many FS'ers anymore and a majority of the DDR population can't really dance anyway so they make more of a tech'ers paradise. TTP (TechTechParadise)

But I also counter that (Strawman technique) because I'm a dancer myself (Break/Hip-Hop/Liquid (Still learning liquid)) and I dont FS much due to the BPM. I DO wish the rap songs were a bit slower so I could FS..... disgust.gif

Perhpaps the tightest FS song on DDR for me "So In Love" 112 BPM..not really rap but R&B feeling to it...
(personal preference)

I'm very dissapointed. And rap and DDR DO mix, it's just a matter of how you play these songs and how well u can "find the groove" That's how i see it and adjust to the BPM's of the strange songs.

I didn't see anyone mention Drop the Bomb, that is sort of a rap song. And why dont all you haters shut up. He aked why some people think rap wouldn't work in DDR he didn't ask for your life story about hating on it.

*sigh

the only song mentioned in there that would make sense to me is SuperStar (Which I mentioned in my FIRST post FIRST SONG on the FIRST LIST!) Let's Groove is not RAP to me (originally done by Earth, Wind And Fire,) and Miracle?? Lets not even go there.

If it wasn't 190 it would be 95 .. and you'd complain about it being slower than ORION 78. goog.gif

Well, that may be true, but I'm under the impression that Extra Mix is a home console only version. Though still, if it has more of a feel and he can get his hands on one, then I suppose he should.

Speaking of Rap, anyone here notice on a DDR 4th+ that Captain Jack's song "The Race" sounds like ... ugh. I forget his name, but he was a very notable gangsta rapper some several months ago. Either way, the sound was so very similar to some well-known American rapper.

Well outside of the DDR community, dissing "techno" without any support is also considered perfectly acceptable.
