I've heard all these horror stories but I haven't heard a really good stoy about the time someone had a great time play the game, so does anybody have any stories?

I know a while back when I was first gettign into DDR I went with a out of town cousin to his mall on a Saturday night and it was a huge crowd there and him and some of his friends started commotion and had people clapping to the beat while they did tricks and took turns, lights were flashing and people were dancing. . very memorable experience. Probably the best one I've had to date. E4.gif

He even had a girl friend that played the game, a lot of my motivation to get into it. E7.gif

i was away for a convention and a friend and I decided to go a few days earlier to catch a ballgame, so i our spare time we visited a local arcade that had DDR.......we didn't expect to get such a friendly welcome from all of the locals there and even hanged out with some of them afterward doing other things.......they even took us to another machine that was more updated and my friend who never played max2 yet was able to play it, also it was the first time i beat max300 also........it still is my best experience when it comes to DDR and still visit those guys as often as i can, even though they live like 6 hours away!!!!

My best moment would be when I placed 3rd in a tourney. 2 of the 3 best people in the state didn't show up, and the third was clear on the other end of the bracket. The 2nd place guy had great luck with the random songs. Stay Hidden Reverse... he knew it like the back of his hand, while I had to sightread. Next time, I'm going to be familiar with EVERY song beforehand. E13.gif

Just last night, I got pretty far on Waka Laka and Stoic farther than I expected and failed at the step-jump-step patterns. Man, those patterns own me! I was surprised as heck I got farther on Max 300/Hvy Doubles than Singles/Hvy. Passed a Std/Doubles in Grad Cyber! And I was surprised as heck how I passed My Sweet Darlin' a Doubles/Hvy 8 footer with a B or C. And my PA was great last night too! biggrin.gif

About a month ago, my grade got to relax for a day and go to Sea World and lucky me, they had a Max2 machine. I spent most of my time in the arcade, switching off between the DDR, Mo-cap boxing and a couple of other games, but the real fun started later on in the afternoon. A big group of kids came in to play the little mini-golf thing they had set up, and they saw me playing. Within a couple of minutes I had about half my class watching me kick buttocks... a nice moment in the spotlight for the weirdo with no friends E1.gif

I was going to the bowling alley, and I found out they had a Solo 2000.

I get up to play, and I pick Paranoia Rebirth on maniac. I didn't think I was going to be able to pass it because the pads were really bad, and solo machines are known for there poor pad quality anyway. Anywho, when I finished I had most of the people that were waiting in line for their shoes clapping for me.

I've done harder stuff, but it was the only time anyone has ever clapped for me after a game of DDR.

I remember when I was at the FYE at Danvers and I was playing 5th Mix. There was this huge crowd of about 20-25 people who were fairly new to the game. I AA'd Boom Boom Dollar(K.O.G G3 MIX) on maniac and they give me a huge applause! biggrin.gif I wasn't prepared to be applauded because I knew to most people that's an easy song to combo. But I was thrilled to be appreciated in such a way.

my best experience is getting an A on anything.....I usually get B's...I blame it on my pad, it's really beat up, and sometimes the arrows move by itself...I NEED A NEW PAD! grrrr....

Comboing Max 300 was the best ddr experience I've had. I never would have imagined it would have been, because I still don't think the song requires any skill(different debate) But I was so fucking overjoyed when I comboed it.

When I was on this trip with my grade, we saw a performance and afterwards went to this arcade. Even though the machine was a shitty 3rd mix and the pads worked just about as well as a soft dick, I played anyway. Man, I swear my whole grade was behind the machine like "what the hell?" (most of them hadn't seen DDR before, let alone a DDR player). I got a bunch of positive responses, and people I don't know come up to me and say "hey that was really cool" and stuff.

Oh and you should have seen the looks on their faces when me and my friend broke out this Afronova routine we hadn't done in about two years. Fun stuff... E13.gif
