When i play ddr i stand with my hands at my sides and when i really get into it my elbow is at my side with my hands forward.
my mother (who is old and cant beat cutie chaser on light) was trying to tell me that i should put my hands on my hips and i laughed at her

I move mine to the rhythm but when it comes to harder or fast songs, they serve to help me keep balance more than anything else. |

I play really low and flat-footed. Also, I step to each beat and if I get into the song I start to swing my arms. _________________

My stance is very variable. Whatever works best at the time.
Sometimes, though, if I'm playing a turn-heavy song (Rhythm and Police works well) I try to keep my upper body almost completely still and just twist my hips to hit all the arrows. Very fun. _________________

I let my arms flow with the music... especially if no one is watching me
Think about this next time you play. Heavy players, they tend to keep their at right against their sides, straight down; preying mantis like arms; or the almighty flailing (when less skill or a song that total whoops their assses) that evolves to the bar rape. Only exception to this are the heavy players that freestyle. _________________

Normal, I just gently move my feet from arrow to arrow and then I move my arms wildly doing so. Of course, I keep my feet on the L and R arrows whenever I start a song.

to start my hands are behind my back, my feet are in the middle, and i, leaning forward while nodding my head to the beat. I generally try to keep my arms out of my feild of vision. When i jump i do a really odd looking jumping-jack. Everyone laughs... |

I start on Left-Right....all the time. I don't know why, but I do. I tend to swing my arms a little when I play, but nowhere near flailing. If I don't really know the song I kinda go into that "praying mantis" thing. Well...no, not really. My arms are mostly at the side of my body, then they go out at the elbows. _________________

Formless stance: thumbs in pockets, feet on respective arrows (L/R), elbows slightly out. Tap foot, nod head, or snap fingers for silent beats. _________________

Heavy as in "ddr level" or heavy as in weight? _________________

Rhythm (K.O.G. That's exactly what I do. I put my feet on the first 2 steps with Rhythm&Police and Matsuri Japan. Actually, I do that with most 9-foot songs. Also, I try not to move around so much so I can conserve energy for further gameplay. It helps me a lot.
for double I stand with each of my feet in the middle of a pad. i have long legs. |
