I would suggest the emsusb2 from www.levelsix.com (Go to Products->PC). It's only $15 or so, and it has no problems whatsoever with axis. Trust me, I has the same adapter you showed me, and it's just no fun to not be able to hit those up-down and left-right combos

I'm having some trouble understanding the CG v2 mod. It says to buy two 12 by 14 in pieces, but the measurement of one arrow is a little under 11 by 11. So really, wouldn't the mod require four of those pieces rather than 2? Or is there something im not catching? _________________

I request this as well. I have the money for a cobalt flux pad, but if these are any good... ill just get 2 of them instead of 1 CF pad. |

I can help you guys out on this one
DO NOT SHOP AT BUYNSHOP!
I ordered their so called "BNSUSA Evolution Metal Pad" during their big sale and I got totally screwed! First they sent me a PoS Games Depot pad. When I called them about it they told me it was the "NEW" version of the pad and said they could send me a panel that said BNS on it if I wanted to. It was an old style with 9 metal squares screwed together and on little rubber nubs. I told them they can eat me and take their stupid bad back and ordered a set of CG2's of ebay for about $150. I'm SOO HAPPY WITH THEM!!
So if anything, learn to NOT TRUST THE JERKS AT BUYNSHOP. _________________

like Riptide basically said on one of his videos "I made my arrow a little loose". This is good, if the arrow is 1-2 centemitres loose, then that way you wont have to worry about the arrow cracking or slipping off the arrow pannel itself lol. |

Hello, I have been reading these message boards for some time now. This is my first post, so Hi!
Anyway, after playing ddr for about two months i'm starting to do 8 foot songs and my modded mad catz pad just isn't cutting it. After doing some extensive research I have found that a cg pad is my best bet. I need to buy two and I have a strict financial limit of about $200. After searching ebay I found this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3029580799&category=11322
If I didn't know any better I would say these are ver 1 pads. I'm willing to do any and all modding possible. I'm figuring about $90 for the pads, $80 for shipping and what ever cash I have left for modding supplies. My question is; is this my best bet? I can't find a better deal anywhere. Also i'm really scared about ebay. Before I order anything I'm going to contact the seller. I have a whole list of questions I need to ask. Has anyone else ordered from this guy? Will I even get my pad, let alone get a working one? Then if I get two defective pads and I insure the shipping will my $80 be reimbursed? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. |

I'm not sure about the insurance but try to get your pads from gameswholesaler or cyphergames, as I think they are just vendors for Cyphergames.
Don't pay more than 35 for them. I've seen them go for about 15 dollars, but don't get your hopes up. I bought mine for 31 dollars. _________________

I just checked, and it appears both gamewholesaler and cyphergames are no longer registered users at eBay.
At this point in time, it looks like only yang32096, neogames and gamemall are selling metal pads on eBay. There may be others that I missed, though. |

when I first started playing, I ordered two softies from gamemall..pads were in fact brand new, mint condition, and were the exact ones in the picture...don't know if anybody else here has bought from gamemall, but there's my two cents.
personally (and this probably doesn't belong here ) but I'd say go and build two pads yourself..it'd take you a week at the very most (faster than most shipping) and would run you about $200-250 (about the same you're considering on ebay)
heh.. _________________

I got a buynshop metal pad and it is really good all I had to do is slightly mod the arrows (same way as the other ones) and it works and feels just as good as my friends cobalt flux only $150 cheaper. |

Well, V1's are decent pads (I own 2, have had them since about Christmas), but, if at all possible, pick up the v2's. I believe Paysafe and Gamewholesaler both sell them on ebay, and I think that www.cyphergames.com sells them too, although the price may be slightly higher...

I'm back, and I'm having problems with my v2. AGAIN. I just replaced the arrows with lexan, and for some reason, my up button is continually being hit. I opened the pad up and looked around. It wasn't the copper contact, so I have no clue what it was. It would go off without the arrow being screwed on.. Any help/advice/identification of the problem would be very helpful. Thanks. _________________

OMG, that same exact thing happened to mine except it was the down arrow! I un-soldered the wire from the sensor and for me, it wasn't the sensor that was damaged. I ran out of solder so I have to get more for the rest of my experiment which is unsoldering the wire from the chip. If it's that then i'm gonna get high quality wire and replace them all. Ill let you know what happens if you don't fix yours. |

Hey, if you did my mod, chances are that the foil tape is making constant contact with the copper constact point. Basically, what I did is run 2 more pieces of foam tape along side the copper contact, that way there is absolutely no way for there to be constant contact (thus eliminating ghost steps, no steps, etc.)
