|
|
I'm trying to remember which mix(es) had an Endless mode in it... It's either 4th or 5th Mix, but that's the closest I can get.
I just need to know so that DDR can be possible game in Twin Galaxies' 2nd Ironman Contest where it's man vs machine. Break the 100-hour mark WITHOUT ENDING YOUR GAME (You only get ONE SHOT HERE) you win $10,000.
There's no set date for the 2nd Ironman Contest, so I'll make a most in the Tournament forum when I get that information... I just need a little help to pop the idea to the tournament director.
BTW, if you're wondering when the 1st Ironman Contest was... It was July 5-8, 1985 in Victoria, BC, Canada. _________________

1) 100 hours? Impossible. No one's going to DDR for 4 days strait. Even if their stamina doesn't fail them, they have to sleep.
2) 3rd Mix, 4th Mix, and Max2.
*points to DDR at Home* Only home versions have Endless Mode.
EDIT: Then again, arcades have Event Mode, don't they? They're pretty close to the same thing; the only difference is that you get to pick your song in Event Mode. Right?

1) The 2nd Ironman Contest information will be posted in the Tournaments forum as soon as I can get the place & time for it...
2) Does Event Mode apply to ALL MIXES or just the recent ones? Also, is a set limit for number of songs or is there an unlimited number of songs setting for the ARCADE MACHINES? So far, they're going pretty strict with the arcade machine angle at this time... unless they're willing to go with the PS1/PS2/PC versions. _________________

I believe, that unless a machine is on Event Mode, that a DDR machine is limited to 5 songs per play.
But I have also never seen any machines set any higher than 5 songs, too, nor does it seem as though it is capable, from reading past posts about how machines work. _________________

LoL, that's pretty funny. 100 Hours of DDR Endless mode? Heh, no way! I wouldn't play that much DDR I have a life and other things I do than play all day long. I like Endless mode just cause you can stretch a long combo. |

100 hours? Are you crazy! A man who played 3 days of worth of video gaming without interruptions in a Korean gaming cafe actually died. 100 hours of DDR has got to be dangerous. You can't be serious. |

DDR w/o eating or drinking for 4 days you will literally die. you have to drink alot becouse you are going to lose eccessive amounts of water. who is going to watch this, what kind of loser is going to watch ddr for 4 days straight and not play!?!?!?

To be fair, he was also sitting at a computer the whole time, and not getting much in the way of physical activity.
However, 100 hours nonstop is ridiculous. Methinks someone added an extra zero along the way... _________________

Okay, if you're actually going through with this, use Max 2 JP for PS2. You can customize Endless mode so that only certain songs on specified difficulty levels appear. Basically you get a big matrix of all songs and difficulty levels and you turn off the ones you don't want. You can also customize the modifiers and disable the 5-stage break.

As for the hydration problem, Im sure hooking up an IV and catheter bag to yourself would work just fine. _________________

NOBODY has enough stamina to even go for 50 hours playing DDR, and maybe even less than that. Did anybody ever hear the story about the first marathon? The guy that started it died from running nonstop, and he didn't even know he created such an event. 100 hours of DDR, I believe, is going well beyond a marathon distance, because it doesn't even take longer than a day to complete a marathon for someone in etremely good shape. With that in perspective, yeah, you'd probably die trying to do that. You have to be a fanatic or some sort of idiot even to attempt it. I can just picture it....
Dancer: So... tired.... so... hungry.... so... thirsty.... seeing... spots....
Guy with stopwatch: Keep going! You only have 52 hours to go! You're almost halfway there!
Dancer: Oh God, no.... If I have to play... through Only You... one more time... my head... will burst....
Guy with stopwatch: But you'll be famous! They'll name a song after you! 100 Hour Man!
Bystander: Ha! He won't last long enough to finish! I saw a discussion about this on DDRFreak! He has no chance!
Dancer: ...Eric?
Guy with stopwatch: Yeah?
Dancer: Throw... my sweaty towels... at him... so I can laugh... at him... before... I pass out....
Pretty much how it'd go. Only by a miracle could somebody even finish 50 hours. _________________

It could be like that thing... there waz another tourni with people who had to ride a roller coaster for as long as possible... they had 15 miniute breaks after every 4 hours.... but the catch was they had to sleep in the roller coaster... turns out no one stoped and it lasted for like 4 weeks... the people split the prize money... maybe they can do it like that lol _________________

Oh, I just remembered... 2nd Remix for Dreamcast has Endless mode. Club Mix probably has it too, but I can't remember for sure.

Club Mix does have it...Even if you could eat and drink while DDRing, there'd be no time to answer the call of nature, and you're not going to do that and dance. The Dreamcast mixes let you have a break every few songs, maybe that'd work? |
