Ummm I've been playing this song for a while, I don't know if its the game or just me, when the part in the song where it stops for a few seconds, is it the game that makes it look like the screen is strecthing down or is it just me?

Stretching down? hehe I wonder if you mean the freezes? Yes there are freezes in that song. 2 to be exact!! One of them lasts only a few seconds and the other one a good 4 seconds or more.

1st Freeze - 1/4 of the way thru the song
2nd Freeze - 3/4 of the way thru the song.
*************************************************************
But on Oni Trick tho the ecstacy remix has a mod called "Break" where the arrows are kinda on boost but stop RIGHT when they hit the corresponding arrow. (Then speed back up) that's only on TRick Oni Tho. (Via Extreme)
*************************************************************
Other than that tho...extra info. Composed by Naoki Maeda (Alias) D-Complex. Found on 5th and up.

It's just an optical illusion.

Violet i know what freezes are, i was askin' when the song stops for a few seconds I just wanted to know why it seemed that the tv was stretchin', but I guess it was a optical allusion.

I saw that exact thing, and it almost went along with this one thing in the background...I don't know, maybe "Ecstasy" has something to do with it because you think you're stoned when it does that?

You people have it all wrong, those aren't actual freezes, they just slow down so far that it seems like they have stopped.

Play the song on x2 and you will see what I mean, the arrows will slowly move up the screen and not freeze.

nope, they freeze 100%, i played it on 2 IN THE ARCADE, and they completeley stopped for those 16 beats, about 2 inches from the casings. In stepmania they might do that cuz they have to catch up or something. But the song does stop completley twice.

If ANYTHING, I'm surprised nobody ever noticed the SLOWDOWN in both Ecstasy and Electro Tuned. The tempo slows slightly to "catch up" with the song. I made a post about it a while ago, but everyone said stupidly "Huh... I see no slowdown.", when it does indeed slow.

I've played on 3x before, I'm fairly sure that the tempo is a complete stop.

The only thing I can think of for why that happens is maybe your brain doesn't adjust right when they stop. Like, it wants to make the arrows go back. maybe?

well electro tuned has a pretty obvious one, in the first two gallops you have to hit it a liiiittle slower. i've never seen anyone get all perfects on those 5 or so arrows. ecstacy i believe also has a tempo change right after it speeds back up. you have to hit the two down arrows kind of late to get perfects. i'm pretty sure there are other very slight speed changes. i've heard rumors of one in tsugaru right after the long jump freeze in the beginning, and i do kind of notice that the first up after the long freeze you have to hit early. i've heard of stuff like that in other songs but thats all i can think of right now

i see them too...thought i was just going crazy cuz of the weird whispering at that point...and i agree with Matsuri, maybe they are just trying to get to you feel like your stoned...

I just played it on PS2 and saw the arrows stretch out farther apart vertically on the 2nd stop.

This is an optical illusion like somehow your eyes/brain get used to following the moving arrows but when they stop, it takes time to readjust.

lol u guys are funny. its like the spinning spiral. that song has a somewhat of a pattern constant flow. and when the arrows are moving at that semi slowfast constant speed in ur eye the colors between the two arrows dissapear. so when it freezez the motion isnt there anymore. there fore the colors come back pushing the squished vision back to regular. umm i have a flash file that exploits this in the eye and u will see exactly what i mean. i will post with the link to that flash.

science, class, listening. i still have F.

well i found out its a exe file. i know if i posted it no one will download it cuz i dont trust anyone with exe's. but if u wanna see what i mean. u can find it by searching for "virtual drugs" "lsd spiral" stuff like that

Actually, I do. When I try to make edit steps for the 2 bars after the first tempo stop, none of my arrows would fit in a logical, perfect hitting pattern... the slow speedup doesn't go with the music at all, which is why in the official steps there's one jump on the freeze and about like 2 more arrows before the tempo returns to normal...

The same thing always happened to me on Drop Out (light). During that place where there aren't any arrows for a measure or so, it seems to slow down (big time). I could never seem to get the couple notes right after that (I do now, though. This was a year ago on a 4th mix).

Its an illusion becasue the lights of the arrows are constantly scrolling, so it appears that the arrows are stretching. Its really cool, it looks like its stretching but its really not, I notice this all the time in training mode.
