Guys don't ask me if I wana play DDR- They usually give me surprised glances after I slap a coin down anyway and step up with a confident, cool expression. Most of the guys around my area suck at DDR and for the Trick and Basic guys, I make them look pathetic when I bust out in Maniac on As (I occasionally make a couple AAs). And I even went to San Bernardino, CA for a visit and I was surprised that no one could compare to my skills since they have more DDR machines there! It's great to see the himuliation on their faces... who said girls CAN'T play Videogames, huh? E15.gif I also love it when there's a guy who can challenge me and can beat me.

"Yep"
"Alright"

Exactly. This one place I go to this girl always jumps on and shadows everyone.

"Can I shadow you?"
"No"

And then later when she wants to go with me...

"Can I go with you?"
"Not unless you let me pick all the songs"
....
"Hey, for the last song let's do Legend of MAX"
"What did I say before we started playing?"

Not to be cold hearted, this girl is just annoying.

Now wait a second... isn't this supposed to be what a DDR Girl wants to hear? Not bash on girls who ACTUALLY play DDR... God forbid you give us girls any credit what so ever for even playing the game! Besides... you guys don't have boobs that bounce when you jump... and no, bras don't always support as well as some of you may think! disgust.gif Not to mention, when the boobs bounce, it can hurt like hell! frust.gif Let's see some of you DDR guys deal that upper chest pain... E7.gif

OK, of course, listening to what everyone has to say about girls sucking on average when it comes to DDR, it's true. I think that a girl that is really trying hard to play well DOESN'T want to hear, "Wow, you're good for a girl."

Or something I'd hear...
"OMG, I've never seen a girl AAA a heavy/maniac song" or "I've never seen a white girl so good before." It like, those things just piss us off.

That being said, there are girls out there that can PA really hard songs really well, and the ones that do want to be recognized as a whole, not just because we're female.

This is why I'm also not a fan of "female only" tournaments. Most girls I know don't want to have their own special tournament to find out who's the best of the worst...

So anyways, if you want to say something smooth to a girl, just invite her to play a game with you and don't be surprised if YES she is picking heavy too (no, don't insert the obligatory, "OMG, YOU'RE playing on heavy??!!?? :O). Don't be intimidated if she plays Rythm and Police and gets 10 greats... just think of her as another DDRing guy and get up there and try to beat her. E1.gif

Girls do not want to hear about guys who watch their boobs bounce when they play.

All the girls who play regularly around my area know each other, so it feels like theres a lot of girls who play around here (when there actually isn't). So because of that, we usually don't get the "You're pretty good for a girl" crap. Either that, or our guys are just too smart to say that to our girls.

I don't like hearing groans from the 7-8-9 footer guys when I play www.blondegirl on trick. If they're gonna play max 300 and Tsugaru EIGHT THOUSAND TIMES, then i can play whatever I want. disgust.gif

I just treat the women of DDR just like I'd treat anyone else, with the respect they deserve. Others determine the level of respect they get. E1.gif Oftentimes in this world you only receive as much respect as you give, and most of the time it's less.

If they proceed to school me, more power to them. I'd probably ask for lessons if they were willing to teach

I was a lot happier when I lost to a girl in a tourney then I was when I lost to a guy. Except that I did really bad on my song (Saint Goes Marching) devil.gif.
But I'd much rather lose to girls who are good then guys who aren't very good(which is what usually happens).

Alright, here's the thing. I am 23. There are not very many girls my age who play DDR. If I said something to some high school chick, they would think I'm creepy E13.gif

Wow! Yea... I fully agree with all you girlz! When we play we have a lot of stuff and people trying to bring us down. But we are better than several guy, isn't that just like... nifty!?! The problem is though, for the DDR Obsessed girls like me, in my area... we have like... absolutely no good DDR machines. And all the good ones are a rip off! 2 songs for a dollar at the amusement park? I think not! Girls rock! Heh! And for the person that said she's 23 and still playing... YOU ROCK! (to my opinion that is!) Anyone wanna chat any? I have AIM; IM me: GCPunkGirls41

I'm a DDR girl and you know what I want to hear? It's doesn't even matter-- I would LOVE for more DDR guys to just smile! It's game so have fun... don't think "Oh no, it's a girl-- I better play all the catas I know or she won't be impressed!" Guys are at their most attractive-ness when they're enjoying themselves! (yeah, "attractive-ness", I made that word up... you like that E13.gif )

In arcades, the trouble I find is that guys who lose to me act all weird but guys who actually can beat me are more concerned with being manly and playing "manly" songs so they don't even seem like they're having fun.

But I think what Syxx Pac said might be my second trouble-- I look really young and maybe guys think they shouldn't be nice to me. I wouldn't be scared if a 23 year old guy talked to me (about DDR that is), but it's my luck that the boys who introduce themselves to me are 14 and under-- erm.gif Maybe because they don't care if they creep a girl out riiight.gif

I'm 28, older than most, and play. Probably look like I don't belong in an arcade E15.gif Haven't found any girl (er, young woman) anywhere close to my age here who plays much. Of course would treat them nicely if they were around and wanted to talk, but it's better if they ask me questions or if they want to play, lest I have to insert my DDR foot A into mouth B

Would have no objections to teaching someone who wanted to learn and get to a proficient enough level. I am not great compared to all of you, but to some minor extent I have the general idea

well...most the people i play with are girls. I recently got one of my friends (girl) to buy DDR and start playing. It's actually rarer to find a guy that does DDR here. Only guys i know that do it are me and my tournament partner.

It depends on a bunch of things. See, there's more than one kind of DDR-girl. You have your classic 9-year-old Korean one. I doubt you all care about them. Then there's your obsessive, annoying, in-the-addictive-phase-of-the-game girl. I doubt you all care what to say to them either.

Then, you have your impressively-good girls, your girls who are decent but don't really play anymore, your maniac AAers, your freestylers, the unapproachably dead-sexy DDR girls... Yeah, the ones you wanna know what to say to. They just wanna be treated like people. Is that so hard?

I dont really see this whole issue in black & white. If a girl does good well than, "Damn! 'x' Greats? That was amazing!" If not, well hey it happenes to everyone, guy or girl.

I'm sorry, it's hard *not* to look. But yes, perhaps we guys shouldn't talk about that in a forum... riiight.gif

I don't think you should have to say anything out of the ordinary to a DDR playing girl. (I should know, I am one! riiight.gif) Like someone said before, they just want to be treated like normal people.

If you're dancing with a DDR Girl:

You don't HAVE to let her pick all the songs. When I dance with guys, I usually let them pick the songs. So, whenever you figure out the song-picking thing, just ask her if she can do *insert name of difficulty/rating*
It makes them feel better that the guy won't just go and pick Maxx Unlimited Heavy, but was nice enough to ask if she was ready for a certain difficulty

*sigh*

These guys dont seem to get the picture of what the heck's going on these days. Anyway, like Makoto said, Smile...fun...sometimes though..is that enough? You can smile and have fun but have an anti social personality. Is that enough? There are so many factors that a girl should look for in a guy (A decent one) it's amazing to see that they'll never get that. There's always going to be flaws in us whether it be an emotional out burst about failing a song. Foul language when doing the same thing (Failing a song.)

Just last night (Kinda off subject) I was playing DDR, and where I played I started off with Legend of Max... (I just wanted to show my homie that song real fast) then kick it with Joce a.k.a. Tsinay Butterfly and go on her lunch with her. I always try to put up a great smile when I go up there...it's important to approach DDR with a positive attitude. Especially playing a song like Legend Of Max. And after I was done, I was kinda sweaty. SHEESH! and 2 girls looked me straight in the eye after I was done. And I just simply smiled at them and they smiled back. And so happens they ended up playing DDR. I just said a quick "Hello how are ya? My names Kevyn." A proper introduction? Not so bad. And well...it feels great to know I may have 2 girls to talk to about my girl trouble or to hang out with and get starbucks with biggrin.gif

MAkoto I never realized how important a smile was (when it came to DDR)? hehe...that was a perfect example last night. Just that smile brought their attention to me. Smiling also shows confidence. "Oh so sex-ay in a guy" My friend Terry quotes. AFter last night. I couldnt agree more biggrin.gif

*Is a girl*

oO; Where I am.. there used to be more girls than guys that played.. now, its about even.

But, I agree with the smile thing. It also is VERY irritating, when a guy goes up and doesn't look like he's having any fun, because then its just like. "Hey you, get off the machine if you don't enjoy it, 'cause I want on!" riiight.gif The thing is, also, is that the guys here, almost NEVER play with one of us girls. I've managed to convince a guy to play with me twice.. Maybe its just me, but still.
