Hi. I'm a newbie, a 5th mix doggy and a big heavy dude trying to get better @ DDR. I rep Southern CT, a pretty poopy DDR section of the country, all things considered...

So again, hi. biggrin.gif

One question though: Are there many tournaments for beginners and novices as well as intermediates and advanced players? I really want to compete in a tourney but I feel like I'm very lack luster right now. (Only one 6 footer ever done over a B ranking in about 2 months of on and off playing and mostly nothin but 4's and 5's with A-C rankings mostly)

CT has some really good players -- a guy named Steve L came up to the NYDS tournament and owned everybody.

Tournaments often have standard/light divisions, but not always...it depends on the organizers. For now, you should just concentrate on working yourself up to maniac.

So getting to Maniac is a big step toward being able to play tourneys well?

Sort of...I wouldn't worry too much about tournaments right now if I were you, partly because there aren't many light/standard tournaments and partly because you should be focused on just getting better at this stage.
