Man, I went to play Extreme w/ my roommate yesterday, and there was a HELLA crowd there. I mean, usually, we have about 7 people at our machine at any given time. Regulars, ya know, so you can chit chat while waiting your turn.... which is nice.

Me and my roommate went in, and there were like 20 people, none of them who I knew (which is odd, 'cuz I know pretty much everyone who plays in my area). So, me and my roommate sat for a bit, to wait our turn. The people playing weren't nice at all (read "buttholes"), and basically it wasn't a fun environment to be in. So we left, which pissed me off because I really wanted to play yesterday.

This happens at my arcade too (Normally little 8-12 year old brats) so I'm pretty used to it. When they get too close I do one of two thing:

1. Calmly tell them to step back abit so I won't hit them or fall on them and crush their skulls E1.gif

2. Give them an elbow to the head frust.gif

Bah...kids disturb.gif

I have a story like that from the other night.

My girl friend (not "girlfriend") and I went down to the theatre to see Bruce Almighty. They got a Max2 there, so we decided to pop on over and play a game before seeing the movie.

The place was crowded as *bleep*. Furthermore, they were all high school brats (see: freshman and poseur losers who think they are "teh kewl!1!"). Loud, rude, and immature.

Apparently these kids decided that the coin line worked as follows. You either put quarters on the left side or right side. And there were two separate lines. So of course when I put a quarter up for both myself and Tiffany, and we try to get on for our turn, these brats throw a hissy fit because someone had put a quarter on the opposite side of the machine, and saying they have to play with me.

... little snot-nosed brats. disgust.gif

Ugh, I hate that kind of stuff.

This stupid little 4 year old came up and started pressing on my pad, and I didn't want to crush him, so I feiled..... disgust.gif

Happens all the time at MGL. It's the main reason I go to SVGL besides the fact that it's only a 5-minute drive from my home, whereas MGL is a 10-15 minute drive away.

The other day while I was watching Kel do her ddr run a little kid (probably around the 9 to 10 year old range) stepped on the pad she was dancing on. I was a few feet away and grabbed the child and threw him off of the pad. I apologized to him because he was like "what the hell". I told him that I didn't want him to get hurt if Kel spun around and elbowed him or stepped on his foot. It could have been bad for him and her at the same time. The kid was like what ever. His mom was standing right behind me when I did and I apologized for man handling her son like that but she interrupted and said that it was all right and that he deserved it. "Go ahead and slap him around a few more times if you like it might do him some good" is what she said. So yeah kids can be a pain in the butt more often then not. It's just a simple fact of they want to see whatÂ’s going and most likely don't have the common sense or curtsey to back the f@#$ off of the pad when people are playing.
See ya on the dance pad.
P.S. As for rude people; patented process of a swift kick to the crotch always works for me. E4.gif

LoL, you should've crushed him! It's his fault he got in your way, and I'm so glad whenever I play there isn't always a long line. laugh.gif

One time my roommate was doing a doubles freestyle routine... He had a few people watching him, so he was overdoin' it a little.... and got a little dizzy during a spin. Needless to say, he went flying off the pad, right into this 5 year old kid, knocking him down and everything..... I don't know what's funnier, seein' my roommate fly off the pad, or what that kid was thinking when this huge man was hurtling toward him.

Yeah, that happens occasionally around here. Although its a fairly small arcade and it usually only attracts the DDR regulards, who I talk to chit chit with and play with frequently, somtimes crowds of people who no one knows show up. I really don't have a problem with them at all, although lots of times they try and monopolize the 4th+ machine by forming a semi-circle around it with their mass of people. We do have a 6th mix machine, but most people, myself included, generally like to play on the 4th+ better. Were more than happy to wait in line for it, but when they try to do this its a pain in the butt to step up and have to almost forcfully take a turn. Kinda sucks, and its annoying.

Uh uh I thought so.

E2.gif Aww .. the DDR horror stories make me sad for you guys. Theres never a crowd on weekdays and if you call a group of 6 or 7 a ton on a saturday night then I guess it's semi-busy. E13.gif

There cool people they just stay to themselves. just a bit intimidating since they're REALLY god but hey they arent cocky so whatever.

The other day I took some kids I was babysitting to the arcade and my little cousin started being an bumhole and started stepping on the pad while someone was playing and I had to give him a 1 on 1 about DDR do's and dont's. Needless to say he wanted to go home after our talk. laugh.gif

The only problem I have is when people walk by and act like it's some cult because we like to play ddr and were actually good at it. disturb.gif

Hmmmmmm.....

you can rant all you want...but I believe there are lots of factors regarding the way a person feels that day. Knowing or not. How was his day? Is he/she having marital/relationship problems? On drugs? Family trouble? Financial trouble? Or are they just plain egotistical and big headed? There are many reasons why.

Have you ever thought of it that way? Besides the last reason I gave (egotistical) I wouldnt mind it.

And when I tend to think it's an unpleasant atmosphere I just think of what got them there...why they are like this and try to feel them out and not do anything that will disrupt them or their mind set.

Or if you feel THAT uncomfy, just leave the arcade altogether. There will be other days.

And next time you'll run into that fun enviornment

No, i was just saying that it's better for the machine to make money cuz if it doesent that it will be taken away and sold for a new game hence he will wish he never complained about too many ppl playing and spending their money on it.

Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done...I was watching our already poor extreme's pads get the shit pounded out of them by a couple of little kids about a week ago..i'm not joking, their feet were perpendicular to the ground, like they were trying to stab the pad..and every time they hit, i winced. Fortunately, most of the people where i live are pretty nice and are amazed at some of the (few) heavy players in our area, and they even try some light stuff, but when it comes to little kids running around like they own the arcade, you know who to blame for that. E4.gif I actually wouldn't mind a line, because then i can talk to people, but then again, i'm not complaning about getting to walk in to any arcade, stick my quarters in, and feed the addiction.

Well, I'm not saying that we never have a line... we usually have quite the turnout, but they're all usually nice people. Since school let out though, we have all these dickheaded kids that don't talk to anyone, cut lines, and generally make a nuisance.
