What do you think are the songs on DDR that are just plain...average? Not good, but not bad either. Not as horrible as "Celebrate" or "Let Them Move", doesn't have the insanity of the MAXes, doesn't have the silliness of Waka Laka, not as great as Kakumei, doesn't use a different language like Irresistblement...well you get the picture.
Here are some I think are plain average:
Maximum Overdrive
Still In My Heart
DXY!
Nothing Gonna Stop
Ordinary World
I know I have more, but I just can't think of em at the moment _________________

This thread is gonna get flamed to hell
1. Still In My Heart is a very good song...way more than average (I'm her #1 fan so no one better bad mouth Paula!)
2. DXY!...one of the best freestyle songs out there...
3. Ordinary World is one of my all times favorites. I like it so much until I got all the remixes of it...can't say I like the steps though
The rest of those songs are unique in their on little ways except Maximum Overdrive..Thats the only one i'd say is average sounding _________________

Still In My Heart ~Momo Mix~ is pretty good, cant say much about the original though.
DXY!'s heavy steps are cool, though I don't freestyle. But the song just sounds so plain to me.
Ordinary World...guess it sounded average when I started overplaying it on MAXUSA. I did used to like that song alot though. _________________

I find e-motion and We are the Champions to be pretty uninspiring songs.
Synchronized Love isn't that strong of a song either. _________________

True (Radio Edit) | The only one of those sounds I'm not too fond if is True (Radio Edit). The Trance Sunrise version is badass though _________________

Still In My Heart/ Doesn't stand out to me in any way. I don't even know why that song was made. The remix sounds good though.
Almost every licensed song on 5th mix that was new at the time. I almost never see anyone mention the songs from that game on this board except mabye Moonlight Shadow. It probably explains why I almost never play my 5th mix at home or see anyone on this board praise any of the other licensed songs. Some Konami orignals from that game are average too.
Synchronized Love/ I'll never understand why this song was popular with ddr fans when it came out. I don't see anything special about it. Was it's popularity long ago the reason why that song made it to U.S. Max?
After The Game Of Love/ I have no reason to play this song ever again.
G.M.D./Too slow and doesn't belong in ddr. The version I played on Beatmania sounds a lot better.
Queen's Jamica/ Pretty average. Most ddr fans haven't heard it I think, like with several other club mix songs.
Do You Love Me/ Another Club Mix song that's more suitable for Beatmania than ddr. Sounds alright, but not danceable in any way.
Chotto Kitena/ It's alright. But the lyrics are somewhat fun to listen to. |

Tsunami: I think Paula Terry sings much better in other songs. Like D2R, 1998, Dance Dance Revolution and Hyper Eurobeat. |

I love Still In My Heart Momo, but I think More Than I Needed To Know is just plain average. Listen to it, and you'll know what I mean. |

Average isn't really defined in music. Not even a single note can be defined as average, it still has different properties that make it unique. _________________

Paula Terry was in D2R? Maybe I should listen closer next time I hear or play it. _________________

Boom Boom Dollar
Shooting Star
Many Dancemania songs, hence why I'm starting a "Dancemania songs are not the best songs" army.

SLOW?! It's 100 BPM. Bag is 35 BPM slower. |

"Average" huh...well...
...the Paula Terry songs are "average"
...Patsenner and Perfect Free are kind of "just there"
...No Limit was average
...Lovin' You dissapointed me with it's non-descriptness
...the newer Noaki songs are not stand-out at all.
As for Sycnronized Love, at first I did not care for it, but I have grown fond of it.
I liked Dub-I-Dub (I don't need you loooove, anymore, no.)
And most of the songs on 5th were not that great, execpt for Hot Limit of course. _________________

I'd say 1998, sounds VERY similar to D2R, burnin the floor, and every other naoki eurodance song ever created. |
