And they do it every post they make. There should be a rule against this or something. That's why there's SIG space, people.

I don't really get the problem. If they're copying pasting huge blocks of text (I have seen people who do it with like five smileys and an entire paragraph...THEY get nice PMs from me), but if it's just typing their name or something it's not really a big deal.

Well, it's like the sig is a logo, and typing their name at the bottom is just authenicating their writing, as if it was a hand written signature. Maybe a bit too formal, but nothing to get agitated about.

Personally, it doesn't bother me. It reveals the newbishness of a new user, although when respected posters do it, it indicates a choice. Usually the content of the post reveals weather they are a lametard or not.
Names in sig images used to irritate me slightly, but they actually serve a purpose, in that you can browse post quickly. Still redundant, in my oppinion, but not as self-delusional as thinking anyone appreciates you signing your name at the bottom in text as though it were an important treatise. |
