If you're not carful you coudl strip the screws or screw them down too tight. If you are careful to back turn them and make them seated, I don't really see how you break things. Possibly you might break the lexan if you are really ham fisted pulling the arrow off the velcro. And you should be gental with the contact wire attached to the arrow. I think mostly, it's pretty tough and if you're gentle the first time you open it you should have no problem later.

uh..."strip the screws"? and how do u know how hard to tighten them? lexan? thanx for the help, i'm just sorta clueless...

To know if the screws are in a good amount, step on the pad. If the screw feels like its too high, screw it in more. If the arrow isn't sensitive enough, screw it in more. If you screw them in enough, you can't screw them in anymore, and thats a good point to stop.

Also, when taking apart the pad, don't rip the contact wire, it'd be a pain to reattach one of those if you cut it in two.

Had my first one since january and haven't needed to clean it yet (though I'm going to soon)... but I keep it in a fairly clean garage. I've had my second one since march and that one had a lot of initial problems that are fixed now.

Just a little tip though, for the start and select buttons, clean those rather frequently because if a speck of dirt gets under there it can punch through the plastic and lead to an area for the metal to make contact. Happened to me so I just had to use tape over the plastic wrap to cover the holes... I'll probably remove all the tape and plastic wrap later when I can find some decent ruber coating.

Just a note, the new version of the control box, as of about mid-march, no longer contains a select button, the select button is wired as triangle, because it is treated like select in the US mixes, but won't result in a hard reset if you step on triange and start at the same time.

I have a question. So when Ultramix comes out for Xbox what are they going to do about that? Just make a seperate control box for Xbox or will we have to buy new pads?

Or you buy the PS2->xbox converter that has been mentioned lots of times in many threads.

AlRite i was just gonna make a thread on this.

Ok, I was playing Itg Tell expert on my cf when i did a really loud and hurried jump and heard a creaking noise. I played for the rest of the song and looked at my pad.
I was like holy crap there was a huge crack across the middle of a panel. Not only that but on the bottom there was also a widening crack.
I got afterburners after that. E7.gif

You could've posted this in the actual Cobalt Flux Pad topic, rather than bouncing a 2-year old thread.

You know, there is a thread specifically for Cobalt Fluxes...

Were you playing on thick carpet? CFs and thick carpet don't mix. If it wasn't thick carpet, you either got a (rare!) defective CF or you just abused it.

Fixed the smiley. When they break, use the existing Afterburner thread to complain about it.

So um, is it bad that awhile ago I was watching Family Guy, and when Quagmire came on, I thought something to the effect of "Whoa, It's AA Bob!" (I don't remember if the exact thought was "It's AA Bob" or "It's AA Bob's avatar", but I don't think it matters in this case)?
