Okay, my friend is making fun of me for this, and said that everyone would think I was nuts if I posted it, so I'm going to post it.
I find Holic [7] harder than Heartbeat [7].
Why? I passed them at similar times, like a few days apart, without too much practice in between. Holic I had to go over it several times in training to figure it out. Heartbeat I passed pretty easily on my first try.
Is that so odd, or is my friend just being annoying as usual? _________________

That is really odd, because Holic [7] is a joke, its so easy to pass and get a good grade on.
While Heartbeat is a much tougher song to get through, especially because of that one annoying part of the song shortly before the end that can knock my bar below passing occasionally.
Either way, Holic is super easy and Heartbeat is a moderate-tough 7 to pass, IMO (of course) _________________

If you can do GOBWS 14-key, try it on 14-another. It's not that much harder and people are really impressed by it for some reason ;-) |

I'll give it a shot just for you then . I still have problems with one of the note patterns it throws at you on 14keys, where it'll have you playing the 1,3, 4 and 5 keys on the 2p side, and it'll have you scratch while playing the 1 and 6 keys. When you have to scratch and hit 1 at the same time, I can't seem to move my hand well enough to scratch while hitting it, and then move my hand back to the 6 key accurately enough! I'm afraid to see how much harder this will be for me when I get to play on an arcade machine where the turntable is even farther away. _________________

I could do a little bit near the beginning, but I had trouble ever getting my bar into the red. Especially at this one part near the end.
Heartbeat, on the other hand, I just saw that part with all the sets of triple-presses on 1/16th notes, and it made sense and I just did it. And the rest of the song didn't have anything too tough in it. Just 1/16th runs while scratching, I think. _________________

That doesn't mean I'm nuts, though. It just means I have a weird set of skills in IIDX.
I find LAB [7] easier than Empathy [7] because I think I've gotten a 70-something on LAB, but I can't come close to passing Empathy (40 or 50-something only because the ending is so easy). _________________

G2 [2%] wrote: | So Regulus [L7] is hard, huh? I'll get 5th Style and find out myself. |
Yes G2, you should get 5th Style. It's a nice break if you're frustrated with 6th Style, and most of the songs are easier. (sans QQQ and Regulus 7-key) And Regulus L7 isn't that bad...the only reason I fail is if I mess up at the end.
I've made some progress in IIDX in the past couple weeks. I passed some more 7-stars (Absolute, Blueberry Stream, Era Nostalmix, 250BPM, Spin The Disc, The Strong Jaeger, R5, Y31 and VJ Army.) The 7-stars in 5th Style are a bit too easy, it seems like they raised the standard for 7s in 6th. And...I finally passed G2 L7, my last L7 song! The only problem I have right now is...I can't beat any flashing 7s. I can't come close to beating any. I hate that feeling when you're just waiting...waiting to beat that first flashing 7...
Is 14key hard to learn? Do you have to be good at one handed IIDX? |

Remember the first time you tried Boom Boom Dollar double Heavy mode? 14keys is sort of like that at first. You just have to keep at it, and above all else, make sure you are able to clear at least most, if not all of the light7 songs on any style with each hand, and you'll pick up 14keys pretty well. Songs like .59, Yesterday, 19, November, and Romeo & Juliet are good starters for 14keys, and try tearing through all the songs on light14.
Oh, and avoid Route 80s like the plague. Even on light14 it should be a 7*. _________________

Route 80s 14-key isn't that hard on the home controllers. But on the arcade, where the scratches are further away, I have zero chance of ever passing it without auto scratch ;_; |

I won't agree with Holic being easier than Heartbeat (maybe it's because I passed Holic two years before I ever played Heartbeat??)
But I will say that Sakura is 100 times easier than MAX300... |

If not... well, I didn't find B4U too tough... and V isn't that hard either... _________________

I dissagree. I find myself getting closer to passing Max300 that Sakura by a long shot.
Probably because the whole setion after the freeze for Max300 is easy for me. It's just back and forth more or less. And Sakura...well for me the ending is murder. _________________

I find Sakura harder because I suck at scales, and the song ends with them. |

Today was a rough day for me at IIDX. I didn't clear any new 4s or more. Since I've been limited to what songs I can play in 7Key that I can pass, I have decided to play certain songs on Light7. That way, I wouldn't get bored of playing the same songs over and over again. _________________

Passing G2 [L7] is a matter of getting lucky during the end if you can't do those awful drumrolls.
G2, The Strong Jaeger, and The Safari are in what I like to call the 6th Style Trinity. Why? Look at their Light 7's and you'll see why. |

I can pass G2 and The Strong Jaeger with ease on L7 now; as for The Safari and Get on Beat ~Wild Style~... _________________

when that happens, try putting those easier songs on random. it will give you new patterns to work with and you won't be playing the same thing over and over. _________________
