|
|
I haven't been to these forums in awhile, but I'm on the verge of plunking down the $300 (+$40 shipping) for a cobalt flux metal pad.
In the past, however, I've bought stuff and the next week they have some kind of sale. Some places let you come back with a receipt and get the difference, some don't.
My question is, has the cobalt flux pad ever been sold for less than $299.95 new? Have they ever had a sale or anything?

Both thicknesses have worked great for me...
PS2Freak
Also: I don't know if you need my mod, necessarily for the v2 pads... there was a lot of space in between the foil tape that was on the arrow and the copper contact, so when you stepped the arrows would sag a lot, and would crack that way. this is what my mod eliminates. The v2 pads don't seem to have this problem...

Yeah, Afro.
I had the same thing happen on my right arrow when I got it, but I just took some sand paper and took about 1/2 mm off and it works fine now. If you dont want to open it up, Just keep playing on it and eventually Im sure it will wear off. |

Afro,
You should open up your pad and take a damp cloth (unplug the pad) and clean any areas where the spill took place. Let it dry naturally afterwards and then put the pad back together.
Back to my question, =)
I'm not sure if anybody saw this but, I was just wondering if there are any fake Mymybox pads out there. I bought a pad from this company advertising on ebay (out of Edmonton, AB, Canada) and I received it. But it looks nothing like a Mymybox pad (no label) and the panels are slightly different. The underside of the pad has a metal sheet glued onto it and it is covered by rubber feet that are screwed on. It was advertised as 2003 Mymybox metal dance 6 panel lw/ lights pad, but the Mymybox website does not have such a thing. It also did not come in a mymybox box and with no pc adapter. Does this pad sound like another one out there that you guys may have seen?? |

Does it really matter if your mymybox is fake or not? I mean, if it works fine, a real mymybox probebly wont work any better. They offer barely any support for their pads anyways, so who cares if its fake or not? Im sure its real, because who would go through the trouble of making a imitation of a faulty pad anyhow? |

Sounds like a v1 cyphergames, maybe a v2 (check the thickness of the pad). If it is, send the company you bought it from an e-mail politely explaining the concept of "false advertising"

Hi! Sorry if this was already asked before or asked alot. I couldn't take the time and go thru this whole thread reading them all.
But what metal pad is the best? I was thinking of getting the one from Red Octance just because I trust them more than other companies. But I've been reading alot about the Cobalt Flux pad aswell. So I'm just wondering what would be better to get the Red Octane, the Cobalt, or another companies model? You can PM me or just answer in the forum. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you n__n!! _________________

You have two options when it comes to metal pads:
Cobalt Flux: #1 but wayyyy expensive
Cyphergames Version 2 pad: way cheaper and very good. easy to mod and fix
Cobalts go for $300 plus shipping and wont break. Version 2's go for about 80-100 and need to be modified. V2's work pretty well. Take a few minutes and randomly go through the thread for more info. |

hi guys,
well i've been emailing them like crazy, and they say that it is supposedly from the same manufacturer as mymybox and that they are enhanced for better quality (ie lights, and metal sheet underneath panels <-- i haven't checked to see if this is true or not yet), But here's the latest email:
Hello Jupiter,
After discussing you complaining regarding our 6 arrows metal
pads we would like to do the right thing and offer you a full refund plus return shipping fee for shipping the metal pad back to us. We can credit your paypal account after confirmation of tracking number.
We will remove the MyMybox name from our pad and represent the pad as 2003 6Arrows metal pad with Light up arrows as to not misrepresent the product.
We never had any intention to cheat people as we did order from our supplier for MyMYMy pad. Our Premiun pads V2.5b is from MyMyMy. Our Metal pad was supposed to ythe same also but is not and are slightly different. We emailed out supplier and they have stated that our 2003 is improved and much better that the MYMYBOX metal pad.
Please do try it out, if not sastified you can sent it back to us and we will fully reimburse you . That is the least we can do.
sincerely,
Linh NGuyen

Again thank-you for voicing your complain as we understand and know the serious of this issue. Changes to the ebay ads and our website will be made in the next few days.
I guess i scared them like crazy. As for now, I'm playing with the pad now, and its working fine for now. I'll open it up soon to see if there is metal sheets underneath pad.
Ps2freak, does this still sound like a v1 CG pad?
P.S- and yes my real name is Jupiter, crazy huh? |

Only one way to check... could be a v2. Check underneath an arrow, and see if there's foil tape, or if it's sheet metal. If it's sheet metal, its a v2, if not, its a v1. Also check the thickness of the pad. If it is truly 1 inch thick, its a v2. If it's closer to 1/4" thcik, its a v1. Let us all know what it is

He was talking a v2.5? Lights? V2's have no lights! Please confirm lights and let us know. I would like the lights in my pad! That would be cool with the lights off at night!! |

i've opened up one of the panels and checked it out. Pretty much it looks very similar to the pictures on your site ps2freak, and underneath the panel is a piece of sheet metal surrounded by black foam. The pad itself with out the rubber nubs is 1/2 inch thick, with nubs, its a lil bit over 1 inch thick.
I'll up some pics when i buy my digi cam tomorrow |

So, I hear beatgear finally shipped out all their pads to their customers (after about 2 years of hassle) and are taking more orders. It appears that Derek was in debt for a while, but is now back in business. |

Diablo, I assume that you know that the stage in the link is a replacement part for a Solo arcade machine. You would have to mod it to connect to a PS. If you know how to do this I'm sure everyone here would like to know how. _________________
