You know, i've been thinking on a certian question....
Say you can beat Paranoia Survivor (Heavy) w/ the score of about a C, or to the point where your on the danger screen sometimes.....whatever, hopefully you can get my drift....
But you can't seem to beat Survivor Max (Heavy), so you decide to put it on mirror....so my question is.....
If you beat Survivor Max (Heavy) w/ the steps mirrored, do you techically beat Survivor Max???
To me it's kind like, both yes and no!
Yes to the degree that it's 20 BPM faster than it's survivor counter part.
No to the degree that the steps are mirrored and that kinda seems to defeat the purpose of Survivor Max on Heavy.....(besides Oni steps....mind you)
So, what do you think??? _________________

Some of the turning during the end runs is slightly easier on mirror than normal. Other than that, though, it's just about equally difficult. The 20 BPM and the added part at the end is where most of the difficulty comes from. _________________

well that's where the problem comes in...say the player can't get around the mirrored arrows for whatever reason....but mirrors it so that he beats it, does it still techinically count??? Am i even making any sense???
As for the end run, either which one is harder, the original survivor arrows, or survivor max arrows, is totally up to the player. And the extra part, well that's there, no matter what, but it is a small part of the song.... _________________

Well if the player needs to mirror it so that he/she can beat it, I would say that it doesn't count...as hes/shes actually changing the pattern to make it easier for himself/herself. For me, I find the Survivor MAX runs easier for some reason. _________________

Changing the pattern counts... it still has the same number of arrows. For some parts that are less difficult, others become more difficult. _________________

The machine will count it as a pass. That's good enough for me.
This would only be an issue if the mod involved were, say, little, the only mod that 100% makes a song easier. Otherwise, a pass is a pass. _________________

I say, if you beat Paranoia Survivor Max on Mirror, you beat it on Mirror. If you strictly beat Paranoia Survivor Max, you beat the song. If you beat it sudden shuffle flat, you beat it sudden shuffle flat. The point is, you can clear it when it's mirrored... but not the normal steps. So, you can "clear the song on mirror". When talking, you should not be like, "yeah, I can clear it"; you should be "Yeah, I can clear it on mirror". Think about it for a few minutes if it doesn't make sense to you... because, it surely does.
Saying "I can clear the song" if you put it on mirror, when you can't clear it normally... seems like a lie. But, honestly, who cares? _________________

Stole the words from my fingers.
You shouldn't galavant around saying you beat PSM, because you did not pass the official steps. You passed the mirrored steps. |

If you can be PSM, you can be PS... Hands down... But remeber that a grade is a grade, beat both of them...
And if you can't beat the normal steps, then umm... well, that's a problem... _________________

A number of tournaments do not allow any modifiers that actually modify the steps. As in, speed mods are ok, and so is boost dark if you're stupid, but left, right, shuffle, and... mirror, do not. That's because if you aren't playing the same arrows as another person, you aren't doing something you can compare against.
So... I think it is just as hard to beat it on mirror, but it's not the same as just beating it. _________________
