Riot, I am guessing that the wire is disconnected? If so take a look at the others and solder it the same. If the contact is smashed the only other way to fix it is to put a sheet of stainless steel in its place, solder the positive wire (I am pretty sure you dont know which one that is) to the sheet, then make the other wire a ground. If I were you I would file a claim with the shipping company if there was a crack in the arrow initally. All major shipping companies insure their intems for a minimum of $100 which covers the pad and shipping. Call them over the phone or email the seller and let them know it is broken. They can just file a claim and send you another one. If you paid the extra $2.60 for insurance you should be covered. Just explain that the item was fragile and that it must have been thrown somewhere in shipping. They wont fight you. If they do ask them to prove that the item was handled correctly in every phase of transit. |

Can you see where the wire attaches to the panel? Sounds like it came disattached and needs a solder job like Marshall said.
I would try to get a claim as well, although you might run into a few barriers, at least with UPS. They'll do their utmost to pin it on improper packaging. Also, in most cases, the claim money is sent to the sender, not the receiver, so having some correspondence with who you bought the pad from is necessary. _________________

Nevermind, sorry guys! I Fixed it ^__^ I just cut out the part of the wire that was messed up and re-soldered it. Now it works again!!! However, the arrows up top are still cracked and make me nervous to play as it feels they are cracking under my feet, so maybe I'll have to look into making my own like Ps2freak's. |

I weight like 140...... And yeah, I have a seperate control box. I got my pad and control box at the same time, so I dunno about you. The wire just got caught on top of the sensor thing down there and got in between the arrow and the sensor, so essentially, I stomped it to death =) |

I have a question about my CG pad. I play in my garage, with a piece of carpet on top of the concrete. So I'm wondering, do I still need the plywood if I play on unpadded carpeting on top of concrete? Thnx for your help, and I do better on my CG than my friends CF, so I am starting to thing the CG is better. O yea, if it makes any difference, I have a ver. 2 CG. |

It seems like no matter what version you have the plastic is crap. Do the upgrade on the arrows and replace them with something thicker from Home Depot. I have been told to get the arrow graphic online then take it to Kinko's to be blown up. Sandwich that between the sheet metal and thicker plastic. This should complete the mod. As for continuing to step on a broken arrow I cant see recommending it because you are putting more pressure and weight on the contact.
You must have been REALLY stomping on those arrows for them to crack so quickly. I am 190 and I have been jumping on these arrows for a month before they cracked. |

I ordered a V2 CG pad from gamewholesaler awhile ago and got the pad in about 3-4 days. Needless to say, I was exicted - until I found out that the control box shipped separately.
Here I am, over 3 weeks later, and still no control box. The e-mail address listed for them appears to never be checked (7+ E-mails sent) and I'm sick of waiting. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it possible to make my own control box or find a place to buy one, or am I just screwed? |

Ichibo, I dont know what happens with Gamewholsaler but maybe you should contact ebay if they have not shipped it. I may have gotten lost in the mail.
As for the backbar assembly. CF/CG pads you have to make your own. I recommend a flat sheet of plywood and screw the pad down. Then go to the metal shop or home depot and use some plumbing pipes and make your own. Screw them down to make the assembly. |

Ichibo, I had a great experience orderfing from game wholesaler. I don't know why he sends them seperatly, but he did with mine. I got my pad on the 4th day and the control box on the 5th...Maybe USPS is screwing the order over (they do that a LOT ) Anyway, just hope and pray that it comes. |

yeah i got mine from gamewholesaler too. the pad just came today and the box isn't here yet. but i got an email from them saying that the pad was coming via UPS ground and that the box was fedex air. well.. wouldn't it seem like air would get here first? i think it's a conspiracy. they must be getting the boxes from a 3rd party location and mailing them seperately. which is kinda really screwed up. but oh well. i got a pad for $27, i can't say much. i hope it works well _________________

Hey I got one from them too and the control box didn't come. (I also noticed they put the wrong zip code on the FedEx shipment, so tracking it, it had goen all over NJ before it got to me).
I emailed them multiple times and FINALLY got an answer. I didn't call names or try to badmouth them. I kept it as professional as I could.
They sent out another control box (another.. not sure if the first one ever went out).. .and I got it 2 days ago. |

So, I ended up winning an ebay auction for Cypher Games metal pads....46 dollars + 80 dollars shipping. I'm willing to solder and replace parts as I go...good deal? |

my control box came today (day after the pad got here). i haven't used the pad yet. but i took it all apart today and looked at the design. yes it is inexpensive, but it may be effective if properly taken care of. the first thing i noticed is that some of the wires were sandwiched in between the metal contacts. this is bad because they will pinch and could eventually fray or break. so the first thing i did was get some electrical tape and tape them out of the way. also i noticed that some of the contacts (2 of them) were glued on crooked. looks like they didn't take much time to assemble the pads but anyway. i am going to re-glue them straight and hook the pads up in an hour or two and give her a test run. i'll let you guys know how i like em and if there's any more other things. but i would DEFINITELY recommend to everyone getting the CG pads, open them up before you use them and just check to make sure everything is alright, tape the wires out of the way , etc. it will probably save you a lot of trouble in the future.
also i noticed that the circuitboard is very simple, if it breaks it should be easy to replace. i'm hopin this pad will last a while as long as i maintain it. and maybe i'll get another soon so me and my girlfriend can play at the same time _________________

OK EVERYBODY HERE IS THE ONLY REVIEW OF THE CG V2 YOU SHOULD EVER NEED!
to start, i ordered mine on ebay for 60 bucks 40 shipping, payd paypal and then i recieved my control box 5 days later, today i recieved the pad. i walked home from school, and saw the package! i ran to my door and to my suprize it was twice as heavy as i expected, probably its mass+weight, so i brought it in and with no hesitation opened it up with an X-acto, it was packed well with nicely fitted foam. i slid it out and to my grand delight it was beautifull and shiney! nearly brought a tear to my eye! so i ran to the basement to put it to the "all day cata test". i hooked it up to SM, with all the mixes using my ems usb, which i had previously configured. i step on and the brackets, metal and the smell of the freshly shipped pad smelled just like the mall i play at! it gave me a nice fuzzy feeling, enough of that tho. it feels very sturdy and the metal is a very heavy gauge something. the middle squares metal was a bit bent, but unless your an ungodly cosmetic freak perfectionist, this is no prob. the arrows.. ah yes, they feel great under my feet, very similar to the arcade except for the minor fact that they do have a slight sink sensation (keyword slight, i really didnt notice much). i started by playing a basic song. hmm boom boom dollar KOG G3 sounds good. AA first try. a big 10/10 on the responce side. the response is 10x better than an actual machine, NO and i mean NEVER a ghost step. id like to also mention i never opened it up, never had to center any contacts, never did squat except plug and play. then i did standard, AAA on wonderland. i was filled with joy! wearing shoes does make the stepping noises a bit loud, they come off as if you were tapping your foot on like a kitchen tile with your toe. but to my advantage this helped my time my steps because i could sync the stepping sound to the music to give me a sort of self metronome effect. i tried with my socks and nearly ripped a pair sliding. but once i knew how to move my feet better i got the hang with socks, the socks make no sound at all. NO sounds. in fact it sounds like stepping on rug. ahh now time for the catas, BOOM! i passed R&p with a B, BOOM! AA tsugaru, and then i did some easy ones, afronova, matsuri, dead end, dynamite rave, blah blah, atleast 7 catas in a row and i pull awesome grades on everything. this pad improved my scores drasticly. I COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY RECOMEND THIS PAD ON ALL LEVELS, REMOVE ALL YOUR DOUBTS AND BUY A V2, there cheap and they are the best metal pad ive ever played on. ok, later in the day, maybe 30 minutes ago i was playing a basic song and CCCCRACK!.. i stopped and i was thinking @$#(%U&@$(*%(@*%!!!!! so i looked at my foot and i had cracked the left arrow. poopy! but then i kept playing and realized i didnt really change anything, (im definatley getting it replaced with lexan in a week but no more than normal pressure seems to be burdening the contacts. i say this pad is great
ups=
shiney, beautifull, its eye candy
better than arcade response from buttons
sound is tolerable
sturdy metal
compatible with ems usb2
Affordable price ranging (70-120 bucks)
downs=
the plastic on the arrows is cheap... thats it!
if i had the money for a cobalt flux id buy 2 more of these.
cobalt flux scares me with its flat surface, without the brackets these pads have, im afraid to buy one, play well, then go to an arcade and fail my buttocks off because im trippin on the brackets. as i said before there shouldnt be anymore question. as for pics.. check out my new website tommarow and thell be up. the address will be. dancedanceresolution.cjb.net _________________
