You all know about these: Little, Mirror, Dark, No Freeze, etc...

What would be a modifier YOU would put into DDR to make it better?

I think there should be a No Jump code. Similar to Little, it simply removes one of the arrows in any jump. Jumps wear me out, and really take a toll on my legs/feet/ankles, ending my game session sooner. When I do a little impromptu Kitchen-Tile-DDR, I never seem to include any jumps.

Also helpful would be Move Assist. If the game put up little road signs suggesting how your body should be turned, and where your weight should be, it might help intermediate players "flow" though a song. It might also suggest where special moves (like spins) could be done.

None of the stupid SM/DWI codes like drunk, wave, and all that crap!! I like the 1.5x-2x speed mods and Reverse.

The no jump code sounds awful. DDR is supposed to tire you out. Thta's what good workouts do. And later on you get more energy from exercising in the past. So do the jumps and have fun!

Back on topic: I would like to see arm waving sensors. That would be a cool enhancement.

It's no worse than Little or NoFreeze.

And some songs would be somewhat interesting to play on NoJump. Waka Laka Heavy NoJump would be good 1/8th run practice (and good sliding practice too, depending on how the jumps came out) without the vicious jumping portions, and Dynamite Rave Light NoJump would be good for beginners to practice long 1/4 note runs.

I'd like to see a modifier equivalent to IIDX's Sudden+Hidden. It's not stealth, but it's close, because the arrows appear for a bit at the "hidden" spot, but then immediately disappear again. devil.gif

I'd also like to see SuperShuffle and TrueSuperShuffle.
TrueSuperShuffle would make every single arrow a random arrow, rather than just mixing up the arrows in a specific pattern.
SuperShuffle would be the same, but wouldn't allow several arrows to appear on the same arrow back to back except in jumps, making patterns more like EotC, with no arrow-stomping. (Making songs with very fast steps more do-able, rather than having a random chance of... say, 1/16ths back to back on the same arrow at 180 BPM.)

It'd be funny watching someone try to do The legend of MAX Hidden+Sudden SuperShuffle. laugh.gif

This mod is a freestyler's dream.

That would be cool. I think there should be "slow" mode where the music and the arrows are slow....(great for maxx300) blink.gif

Or a mode where you put the arrows in as the song goes along then replay it when it is done... E13.gif

They already have that on... 1st mix home version, I think.

You both play the game and make up steps as you go along for a few measures. Then, you each play the other player's steps during the next few measures.

It was called "Step Battle."

there already is one if you have DDR Max...its in training mode, just select the song then go to speed and change it from 5 to something lower, i do new songs on lvl 1 speed, it really helps....and R&P sounds hilarious on speed 1, i practiced it over and over and over to learn the section with the double taps and orion.78 (?) with the step-jump-step-jump section

I'd like to see a modifier in which the arrows at the bottom of the screen start in the wrong rows and move to the right ones as they near the 4 gray arrows. It'd be called Scramble mode.

I'd also like to see Hidden+Sudden from IIDX. It's like Stealth except the arrows appear briefly in the middle of the screen.

You may notice that I already said that...

...but that just reinforces our claims! We want Hidden+Sudden in DDR!

I think it would be cool if they added an all freeze option where every step is turned into a freeze arrow with it ending at the next step. Also, a random pause option where the song and steps pause for a short amount of time at random spots in the song. Both would make things a lot more interesting.

?X - A speed mod that changes the velocities of the arrows at random places in the song. One second you'll be playing at a 1.5X, and then you'll get bombarded with a 3X.

IndX - Each arrow has it's own independent speed, which is selected at random. One arrow may be moving at a 1.5X, while another may be moving at 2X. Generally impossible to complete faster songs if you think about it.

Switch - The arrows don't appear in their normal places. For instance, you can see in the step zone that the up arrow has been switched with the left arrow. The arrows in the playing field are also in their places that correspond to the new step zone. The placement is selected at random. Suddenly a Holic-style turn doesn't looks so familiar.

Spread - Available on single player only. The step zone and arrows are spread out horizontally so that they cover the full length of the top of the screen (The size of the arrows do not change).

And how about more options for Hidden/Sudden? It would be nicer if I could change the place at which the arrows begin to dissapear/appear.

Just to throw people off, RANDOM FREEZE. It would kill people when all of a sudden HVAM freezes are occuring every 25-30 seconds. Even 2 a song would be enough.

And I'd like to see a wave optino NOT in oni. Cause I love playing Am3p on trick.

If there was such a mod the song would take forever to end.
