I was wondering if anyone here has done business with www.channelbeat.com.
I was going to place an order with them, but they say they cannot take credit card payment. They will however accept a wired cash transfer.
A wired cash transfer of such a large amount (that I will not state here) has me a bit weary.
I'm hoping to get some feedback on this company's trustworthiness or opinions of transactions others have had with them.
I do not have any suspicions that they are not trustworthy, but most of you can probably understand my reluctancy to release a large some of money to a company I can't just get up and drive to.
Any useful information would be appreciated.
Thank you. |

If you ask most people here, they'll probably say that Channelbeat is good, but has high prices and takes a while to ship. I'd recommend you to get in touch with a local arcade in your area that deals with imports and go through them instead. _________________

All I know about them is what I saw at a tournament several months back (I think maybe a couple people here could vouch for me).
Sportsworld Tournament in late December. Got brand-spanking new arrows from Channel Beat. By, like ... perhaps the time that 72 hours were passed, around 6 of 8 or more of the arrows had been broken to pieces.
At least, I was under the impression that the arrows were from them. Anyway, that being the case, I feel that their equipment seems a tad shoddy. _________________

My best advice = Coinopexpress.com
Channelbeat will sell you used machines that WILL come in broke. They take about 4 months longer than the ETA, and the repackaging fee in the US is rather large. So if you want broke stuff, go for it.

There are also many past posts asking about Channelbeat and the other prominent internet arcade game retailers. You may want to read those for advice. |

James,
I have spent some time reading your posts on ddrfreak and would like to tell the readers some points that you have not written about.
We are not a backyard seller and pride ourselves on our honesty and service. We sell to many leading arcade chains and resellers in the USA all giving us repeat business over the last few years. I am sincerely sorry for the problems you have had, and understand completely that you were relying on us for your store opening. We were let down and disappointed by our suppliers and overall not happen with the outcome.
Our suppliers for your order came directly from Australia, Korea and Japan and we never saw or touched the products. In Hong Kong, we have collected almost all the Bemani games in the market and now must try to outsource products and with this, need to rely out outside companies.
However, we have tried our very best. The machines arrived to you with problems and we chased and tried to solve. We felt very sorry for what happened to you and gave for free Drum Mania 8th Mix and Guitar Freaks 9th Mix as compensation for our suppliers errors (for example, the BMIIDX8th was packed wrongly, with the wrong machines being packing into the container James machine still had money in the cashbox and was in the process of being converted into the new model, with his proper machine we ordered and paid top money for, covered and at the back of the suppliers warehouse).
Please also note that in your posts you mention;
· we did not reply for 2 days this was due to public holidays in Hong Kong which we mentioned to you.
· The machines were late arriving to you we keep you totally informed about supplier delays and also shipping delays and re-routing (due to war). Beatmania II DX8th mix from Japan was not shipped because the supplier took our money and never shipped (we are still chasing them for the goods) so we paid and ordered a replacement unit for you from Australia.
· Para Para fault we asked for photos and more details for the problems so that we can inform to our technicians and solve the problem. We still have not received. Please do not post we will not fix it we need your information to try to fix the problem.
I also believe that your technician may not have been experienced with the Bemani or Pump games because it should not take as long as you mentioned to solve the problems. This is no excuse for the machines not working, but some of them machines I am sure did not work first time because of wrong installation (not connecting properly, etc
..).
James, we have done our very best chase and solved problems for you. We cannot control shipping lines and suppliers. But we can control our efforts to solve problems and in your case, we have tried to solve each problem and also paid you compensation. If we stole your money or never tried to help, then we understand you complaining about us through ddrfreak.com but your attitude and trying to discredit us through your postings is unreasonable and unwarranted.
Amy Wong.

PS. Tidus Vash, if you would like me to send you referrals from people who have purchased machines from us located in USA please let me know and we will email you their contact details. |

Dale is looking for the perfect business, but he is not going to find it. I am afraid we are stuck with businesses that are fallable such as www.channelbeat.com. But it sounds to me that www.channelbeat.com actually does something to compensate for their errors. If they compensate for their errors they are a good business. So I am keeping www.channelbeat.com in my list of arcade suppliers. |

And channelbeat has done a lot to help, just not always in my timeline or what I would like, but I think we are going to get it all worked out.

Please try to be a bit more understanding. I understand your frustration, but no business is perfect. If a business tries to correct their mistakes they are still worthy regardless of endless excuses. |

Thank you. |
I have done business with Channelbeat twice so far and plan to do more in the future. For me everything worked perfectly and was shipped very fast. They respond to emails promptly and are good at answering questions. |

I've had good experiences with Channelbeat too. The first time I ordered, I was a bit wary of the funds transfer, but everything turned out well in the end. The machine works fine, and the upgrade kit works flawlessly. _________________

LOL @ Dale. I'd probably say the same thing if I got screwed outta something like that. I'm not a perfectionist but I do demand good quality machines. Not broken ones. I'd probably say the same thing Dale if that happened to me. 3 points or otherwise you got your point across _________________

I miss talking to Amy.
Don't get me wrong. The new guy that answers email questions is cool too (Jon is his name, I believe), but there was something uniquely fun about talking to Amy.
Oh well. |
