Are the dance steps for Afronova in the first DDR game the same as they are in DDR Max 2? I've been playing Afronova on PS in the first game and I know Afronova is in Max 2. I don't want to go to the aracdes and be thrown off because I'm used to different steps.

Same steps.

... the only thing you have to worry about is if you decide to play oni mode (if you have any idea what that is) and go through the Love RevenG course, where there's an Afronova remix with very different (and MUCH easier) steps. However, you won't have to worry about that for a while.

The steps to afronova remix on Love RevenG are really easy, like super easy. It's only an 8 footer.

Yes, I do know what Oni mode is. I own Max on PS2. Yes I am a newbie, lol.

It's only an 8 footer? I have trouble with slow songs. I'm getting better though. I have been playing only for a month and I find myself better at up tempo (Not Max 300 up tempo) songs.

Thanks for your help guys. The thing was that the step charts that ddrfreak had for Afronova on standard were different from the steps in DDR ... 1 I guess. So that's why I was confused.

One has nothing to do with the other.

Bag 65bpm = 10 footer
The Least 100 seconds 268bpm = 8 footer

My fault. You see how newby-ish I am. Yeah... what I meant was that he made it sound like it was only an 8-footer when I still have problems with 4 and 5's.

Ah. I think he assumed you were playing it on Heavy, which is a 9.

Afronova and Afronova Primeval are both 9-footers on Heavy, so the Afronova oni remix is "only" an 8-footer.

Well, just remember that as a general rule songs will have the same steps no matter where you play them.

Exceptions:
A few songs on heavy or double heavy on US/European mixes have different (often easier) steps than on newer Japanese mixes. Club Version songs on double, Cutie Chaser (Morning Mix), and Vanity Angel come to mind.
PARANOiA ETERNAL has different steps on DDR 5th Mix and DDR Extreme.

Other than that, songs will have the same steps no matter where you play them, even if they have a different rating. (Some songs get their rating changed from one mix to another. Drop Out used to be an 8, but now it's rated a 9 with the same steps.)

Watch out for remixes, though! Don't accidentally select Burning the Floor (Momo Mix) expecting the original song and steps!

The only exception (not really applicabel to this situation) would be the "soft" mode in older versions. They always have dumbed down steps, except for maybe the one footers.
