| I made a DWI using the Stepmania editor. I tryed playing it on DWI but it didn't exactly work that well. I've heard that you have to delte the SM file from the folder in order to have the file work right in DWI but when i tryed that i just got freeze arrows ALL over the place. Any ideas on what happend? I send them to my friends also. They all use DWI and it does the same thing. |

Open the DWI in notepad, check for freeze arrows that aren't complete:
0!400004
or
4!400004!4000
You'll need to make sure the freeze arrow has a beginning (the first number before the !) and an end like this:
4!400004 (one left freeze arrow)
or a complex version:
7!40603 (jump U+L and hold L, hit R, hit D and freeze ends)

Sorry, I didn't see this post initially...
But anyway, is there anyway to change the programming of DWI where it can read a created difficulty tag to its already existing selection? (Namely, I want to add Begginner mode.) Is there a patch that remedies this really annoying problem?!

Sorry, I didn't address this.
This can depend on how you are running SM. If you are running it in window mode (where you can see your desktop), SM will run slower than that of full screen. Try also minimizing AIM for better results.

ok, i havew directx 9.0 and am running win 98. it won't "initialize the video surface" unless i run it in sdl mode, but i would rather run it in dx. any way to fix this?

What is the problem running it in sdl? It's exactly the same other than the cmd prompt that pops up (minimize)?

Really? I didn't notice. Hmm, mine runs fine like that, AA just about any DDR song in sdl.
Well, If your system performance is high end, and DirectX's latest version is installed. I am all out of suggestions.

Okay, I answered my own post...
If anybody wants to play beginner mode (Especially for freestyling purposes) You have two options...
1. Wait for SimWolf to update DWI
2. Get Stepmania (Stepmania does read beginner, looks like basic though...)
Well, hope somebody other than myself is trying to freestyle TEARS and cries because it's a 5 on basic..

Maniac Little no freeze isn't that bad, but ofcourse beginner is better in this case.
