Hello! I'm kind of new here, so just wanting to say hi to you all here E4.gif
Anyways, I just need some advice...I'm not sure exactly how I would be placed in rank (you know: beginner, intermediate etc.) I can do most songs on Trick (except for the really hard ones..) and all of them in basic, but I can only get a few on maniac! It seems that for many songs, there is a leap in difficulty from trick to maniac. And I just get stuck on maniac songs such as Matsuri Japan when theres soo many arrows on the screen at the same time. ::Flaps:: could anyone please give me some advice? Also, would anyone know any good songs to practise those gallop steps? Arigatou riiight.gif

Well, for one, Matsuri Japan is a nine-footer. You'll want to start with some 6-7 footers.

Try Let's Groove, Look to the Sky (True Color), I Like to Move It (yag), Peace Out, or Ecstasy.

Good songs for gallops...

Cowgirl, Tsugaru, R&P (sure), Abyss, true... (trance sunrise mix), INSERTiON (2x, of course). I don't recommend trying these right away. Get those long 1/8 note runs down (see above) before you worry about gallops.

Go level by level. dont go hop from playin 6footers up to catas and stuff. if u wanna get better, u have to be good all 'round. if u start from the bottom up, u learn more techniques for gameplay. thats my 2 cents. it worked 4 me, hopefully it'll work 4 u E1.gif

i dont know what some of you people are talking about if this guy has trouble with some standard songs hes not gonna be able to do r&p on heavy i can barely do it and i can AA all the songs on standard and most on heavy a good song to practice gallops is cowgirl or tsugaru on heavy even if u cant finish the song put it on event mode so u still get the practice plus with these two songs the gallops flow with the beat perfectly

try holic and era on heavy. Well maybe not era if our stamina is bad...but both of those songs have very simple 1/8th note runs that you will have to get used to when doing other heavy songs.

Also good songs for learning how to cross over would be freckles and spin the disc. heavy.

yes it does have 8th runs, but they are in crossovers patterns, possibly not such a good idea for a new heavy player, and its 170 BPM. try stuff like Senorita, Love Shine (just dont kill it), Keep On Movin.

I think everything has pretty much been covered.

Don't step ahead of yourself, in other words work your way up to doing harder songs... and if you can't pass Maxx Unlimited, your not alone.

Good luck.

Try not to ump from level to level so quickly. Just slow down and you'll progress quicker than u think.
