Thanks for the info, although like I said before the d-pad, when the controller was together, had its left "stick" every once in a while. So I will be using 4 of the buttons and the other two buttons for start and select. Chances are it was just the rubber membrane that caused the sticking, but don't want to take any chances.  |

My set of mirrors (listed on riptide's site) work fine... Trust me on that, I have people downloading all the time... My FTP is tested a few times a day by some bots, and by plenty of leeches :-p, so I know it works just fine. If you can't figure out how to connect to an FTP, then don't complain. |
see, i honestly think the problem with what im doing is trying to connect to ppl's FTP's at the wrong times, because every time ive tried to connect, its told me that the server is busy (I use Netscape and WS_FTP)...and i think I mistook that message as just being a default message being that the files dont exsist, because the message came up so frequently. what are the best times to connect to your server/anyone's server? |
"server is busy" means exactly that... There are too many people connected, try again later... The best time for my server is... whenever anyone else isn't on it  Use a program like FlashFXP (I guess ws_ftp would work too, though), and queue the downloads. Then just set the retry to like, every 5 minutes, and just leave it... That'd be the easiest way, because my server really isn't full all the time ( I have a seperate login just for DDR vids).

BTW, once ive decided now that once i get all the videos downloaded, im gonna put them on my FTP server and host them also, maybe to help spread the bandwith problem and make things a little easier for ppl |

What about "page cannot be displayed"...? Is there a reason the page is not being allowed to be displayed? I click Chapter 1, and I get the "page cannot be displayed" page. Are you supposed to do something else, or have some sort of program so that the page will load..?
Could you please advise me on a way to be able to access your videos? |

I finally got the vids to start downloading at like 6 AM this morning...crazy day ive been having
ya and vids one and two just seemed to like stop downloading like an hour ago...i dont know why...crazy...its pissing me off though

Don't try and use IE to access them, use an ftp program. IE's saying it can't load the 'page' because it can't connect to the server. It's an overly-generic error that IE uses.
As far as FTP programs go, I recommend SmartFTP. SmartFTP can grab FTP urls from the clipboard and use them. Just right-click on the link in IE, select 'Copy Shortcut', then open SmartFTP and it will ask you if you want to connect to the server in the clipboard (or something like that).

Thank you for the advice, although that Smartftp stuff is greek to me, but i will have my son look at your message when he gets home and he proably knows what you are talking about. I am just one of those parents who know very little about computer stuff, every time I come across something new to learn I have to have my children show me the how tos. He is the one that is actually going to build the dancepad and I am trying to research all of these threads on the how to. Cause he is the type that took one look at these things and said oh I can do that, but he is planning on doing things different. I want to know how this all goes together and make sure it will work when he is done. He has some ideas of doing it a little different. But I am the one spending the money on parts, so I am trying to guide him along. There is alot of good info on these pages and my son don't won't take time to read it all, he would rather play countstrike when he is online. So I am trying to do that part of it. He has a tendency to get things done in a hurry and if I can watch and be informed on how all this works, maybe I can make sure he takes his time and does a good job and we have a dancepad that works and looks as good as these I have seen here. I appreciate all of this info you guys have put on here, and how helpful everyone seems to be. Thanks!!! |

As far as FTP programs go, I'd hands down recommend FlashFXP. It's bar-none the best out there. But, if all your doing is downloading a few videos, I guess it really doesn't matter. If anyone wants FlashFXP just let me know.

naaah, that really shouldnt have been the circuit board that was screwing up. Put a rubber button against the circuit board on left. down, w/e and press down, then slowly release and see if it sticks that way

Ok I have just aquired the infamous "lost RipTide Video 3"...lol...and am uploading it to Prodigy now. it should be done in the morning.
i am also ALMOST done downloading the rest of the RipTide videos from Prodigy, and will soon put them up for DL on my FTP server...which will be up soon.
so FINALLY we can solve some problems with these videos around here...sheesh...lol

Ok, all videos are on my ftp (sorry - I had forgotten about vid3 not being there.) My FTP is up all the time, so people need to stop the bitching. I'll be helping krillian set up his FTP server so you leeches can have more bandwidth... I already set him up with a subdomain, just gotta talk to him about the ftpserver. Peace.
