Just wait. A couple of us are trying to make something like your Tenkay tournament happen. _________________

Which hasn't been released in arcade form. Still, it's a fictional story, it can have a fictional machine if it wants to. |
Exactly. It's called "creative liberties", all of you overanalytical, anal folk. Eeesh.
Case in point -- Real Life Comics made this little comic, since the author plays DDR. He refers to "Paranoia" as a four footer. Fact of the matter is it's a comic. Funny, funny, ha, ha, fictional.
It isn't like she's making up songs. _________________

Yeah, we're Aussies, but our accents are fairly varied - we represent a fair selection of the University community so far. And we certainly don't use much Ocker slang[1], although if you put any Australian characters in we'd probably tolerate the occasional "she'll be right" - as long as they don't have a crocodile-wrestling FS routine
But seriously, if you're brave enough to include us, we've got some photos on our site (see link in sig) ... must get someone to upload the ones from the latest tournament.

Well, I dunno. They've not even gotten to the 10k mix machine, which has songs chosen by the judges since they won the last big tournament. So let's see, what would I add?
Hmm, since it's running through my head right now and I've been wanting to make steps, "Body Rock" by the Heartsdales (so addictive! Aaaugh!!!)... Rakishou Ikkimasho (or however it's spelled. I never get it right, even with it right in front of me, the second Sailor Moon SuperS ending theme. So perky! So happy! So ready for freestyle routines with its "I'll get the boy, I won't give up, they'll love my cute little sailor outfit" message.) And then, hmm... I guess continue the shoujo anime fun and throw in one of the perkier Cardcaptor Sakura songs. Not sure which. I love the second opening with a passion but the first might be better. And with a cute little Sakura video in the background. Everyone would love me, since everyone has such an unnatural attraction to that show.
If it was limited to Dancemania stuff, You're the Worst Thing For Me, Digital Love and Doo-bi-dee-boy (because you can never ever have enough smile.dk). Oh, or if it were limited to Konami type stuff, I really want to hurt you from pop'n music is the cutest song ever to have an incredibly depressing title... such a hard decision! So glad I don't really have to make it (and likely never will). |

aww, don't jump to conclusions so fast, na? they're not the ONLY korean people in the whole tournament-- there are more on other teams, but I've only drawn the first two teams yet. (Also David's parents live in Seoul again now, but Ken is third generation... he calls himself american) btw, Zep-- David didn't choose the nickname "Cowboy", it was given to him by the other guys... all explained in coming chapters
anyway, there are seriously like 40 team members (from the 8 top teams to qualify) that I haven't introduced yet even in the team stats pages. plus a fleet of extra characters that go to UHM, or to Hana & Nana's HS. Or stay in the same hotel with Team Wang, or the cheap motel with LoveMagic Remix. Plus the people that work at the tournament but don't compete. And everybody at Denny's down the street from campus (because I love some of the insane people you can see there) this is the biggest character assignment I've ever taken on. whew! I'm far from done...
DJ_Dustbuster wrote: | P.S. Makoto? Your style of art/manga/whatever. What do you base it on, if anything at all... |
I think I get what you mean I really like lots of manga and they all influence my drawings some... I love Obata Takeshi's drawings-- he did Hikaru no Go, and Hajime, but I don't think I'm capable yet how awesome his work is! I'll keep practicing though. And I also love Takei Hiroyuki, who did Butsuzone and Shaman King... and DJ, you deserve some time to slack after exames! I'll send good score vibes your way

ha ha ha! noooooo, my roommate (and others) would KILL me if I even mentioned crocodiles! In my town (Kurume-shi, Fukuoka-ken) I know 10 people that speak native english-- (two american, six brit) and four are austrailian but the only way you can tell the difference beyond the accent is that aussies don't say "Thanks"-- they always say "Cheers!" and instead of "You're welcome" they say "No worries!" Do you guys (and/or girls) say that too, or it just them? (I wouldn't be surprised either way )-- but I didn't include them in my story because NONE of them play DDR outside my apartment... they're too shy to go to an arcade in japan.

I know it my fault though for posting anything before it was finished... btw, I kinda like that anime theme song idea. hmm... it'd be a funny way to include songs that nobody else could possibly have memorized... edit steps are okay too... mmm, gears are turning but... who would play a cardcaptor sakura song? hmm
Thanks for all the comments everybody-- I'm really glad some other players took a look at it... advice like this I just can't get from other artists I know if they don't got game _________________

Guilty. But only me, and I suspect I caught it off someone, since I'm fairly sure I didn't speak like that until maybe a year or so ago. And I do say "Thanks" or "Thank You" more than "Cheers".
As for your roommates - bah! When I get to Japan, the first thing I plan to do is find a DDR machine! If nothing else, it'll work off the DVT I get from sitting in Economy class on the plane _________________

you mentioned earlier that it might be better if you posted whole chapters at one time instead on in parts with updates
I think I like it better though when you post the smaller updates because it is like several episodes within the chapter and for some reason I just like it better, it makes it so the end of the updates leave you hanging _________________

Mad props Makoto. You already awsome skills are improving and the colors do not seem to be much of a problem for you any more. Great job. Keep pumping out the pages, at your desired speed of course. _________________

callmeImpressed..
As always(always referring way back when to about a month ago from the Drawing Board) Yukon, I'm at a loss for words. You've got the drawing skills, the DDR skills, and you're beautiful to boot.
I love how you still retain the sketchy lines while still having it have a finished quality at the same time. It's definatly something I always tend to loose when trying to finish a sketch, making it much less dynamic.
Can't wait to see the rest! |
