Once when I was at My local arcade, Rocky's Replay; My semi-friend (adequately named Good Ken to be differenciated form Evil Ken) Was playing Max 300, MaxX Unlimited or The Legend of Max (I can't remember which) and these idiots who were watching (standing just close enough that I could hear them ) were saying crap like "oh, he's not really doing that"

I would just like to add one more thing here...
"I HATE STUPID PEOPLE!!" thanks for your time. I mean, what is it with jealousy, stupid questions, and n00bs? come on. I taught myself how to play. I dont know if Taught is actually the word im looking for. The game is self explanitory. It requires no knowledge, and only enough brainpower to be able to move your legs. If you do not understand the concpet, you are stupid. I mean, the game is so simple, that you shouldn't have to ask ANYTHING about it. The only questions that should be asked are: Can I play one round and let you back on after im done? or How much did this machine cost you? Those, my friends, are good questions to ask. Not stupid things like "duh, how do you play?" or "What do the arrows mean?" egad!
Sorry about the rant, i just like to blow off some steam when it comes to stupid people.

Dumbest question someone asked me:
"Why do you play this game?!"
Me:"Because it's fun! " *Continue playing* |

In the same vein as the last question:
"What's the object of playing?"
I've heard this question asked twice in 2 different arcades. This is the dumbest question I've personally heard. |

I just finished playing Afronova (Light) until a lady poked me in the shoulder and asked me:
"OH MY GOD, YOU ARE SUCH A GREAT PLAYER. YOU MUST HAVE WATCHED THE LORD OF THE DANCE [Michael Flatley(?)] AT CONCERT OR SOMETHING!"
I backed away from her and said no. |

I'm sure the most common is "How do you know when to step?"
There's also "How do you keep up?" and "That looks fun.. what do you just jump to the music?" _________________

"How do you keep up?" Is more of a compliment than a stupid question.
See, some people have bad reflexes, and just can't play DDR that well. It's not their fault.
I'm kind of blowing myself off here, but the first time I played a dance game (PIU) I placed my feet so they weren't touching any buttons, and I returned my feet there after touching a button. I was thinking that you got points off for stepping on a wrong button .
One of the retarded ones that I can forgive, because when you're good you make it look easy, but, you do a hard song, and the next guy hops on, thinking it's really easy (first time playing it), and then picks a fast song.
BOOM, FAIL.
"I'm never playing this again! It's impossible"

There was a group of kids behind me (Im only 14 so they were about ym age) and this one fat kid was like, oh thats easy! SO his friends to told him to go on after me. So the kid steps up and chooses a song (he doesnt know how to tell easy from hard) and and one of Paranioas. He starts and sees how many arrows there are and walks off before he even steps on one, (GIVING ME A FREE GAME!)'
Thus, the stupid quote being
"This game is easy" when you've never played let alone dont know how to choose the right song |

Not a comment as much, but I see people go up, put four quarters in, and then have no idea what to do. They don't know what the front buttons do, so they wonder what to push while they can only select one player. Selecting then, (since this is 5th Mix) they decide to play Abyss, which is pretty hard for a 2-footer, and definitely not good for a beginner. Not knowing how to play also means they fail quickly.
When I see these kind of situations coming, I quickly offer to show them the easiest songs, and guide them to Dancing Pompolokin, 007 and Xanadu. I also try to get them to watch the instruction video before they play.
If it looks hopeless, I offer to jump in, and I get a free game. _________________

After a long session of DDR I walked out of the arcade and this fat chick came up to me and said, "Why do you go up there and sweat and make yourself look like an idiot? What do you get from it?"
I was gonna say, "I lost 50 pounds playing DDR. Maybe you should try it." But I didn't think of it until afterwards, and I didn't really lose 50 pounds on DDR. _________________

I know it's satisfying to make fun of people about their stupid comments right in front of their face, but I wouldn't be able to do it if they weren't my friend. Plus, I don't like obesity jokes.
But anyway on track of the comment,
I hate when people say that playing DDR and making a fool of themselves is stupid. Just ask them a rhetorical question.
"Why do you make yourself look like a sweaty hog and make a fool of yourself on a stupid arcade machine?"
"Why is the sky blue?"
"Uh..." _________________

Yeah I guess. The song wasn't that hard either. I just don't think people understand you need a concept of RHYTHM to play the game as well. Like as if the music is there just as a background element. _________________

If you play 8 days a month, 5 times out every one of those eight days or
5 days/8 plays- you would get a better deal than going to a health club. _________________
