Yeah Kyle, it was cool meeting you. You're brave to start playing IIDX on 7Keys...it took me forever to adjust from L7 to 7Keys. Also try:
Remember You
Higher
Love Will... (not that bad, is it? I've never played it)

While we're on the subject of songs to try, can anyone suggest some easier 7 stars or flashing 7s? (Preferably from 6th CS, 5th CS and/or 8th Style arcade) I've already passed Presto, Flowtation, Five Regrets, route 80s, Buffalo and Holic, but I seem to be stuck there.

R3 [L7], and 20 November [L7]. Just whatever you do, DON'T PLAY THE STRONG JAEGER!!!

Kaleigh: Improve at scratching and Blueberry Stream will be a snap. I suck at scratching and therefore only finish in the 50-65% range.

I think Kyle said that he's not going to play L7....which makes it hard for himself.

And yes, The Strong Jaeger is evil. devil.gif I only passed that once on Random.

Heheh, I do, too! riiight.gif The parts with all the scratching kills me in Get On Beat ~WS~ and B4U on L7, and I thought the scratching parts in Buffalo were harder than the scaling. But yeah, Blueberry Stream looks like the next 7 star for me.

Thanks! biggrin.gif

Anyone besides me find Something Wonderful [A] easier than on 7 Keys?

I have to say that I find Something Wonderful a LOT harder to play on [a], simply because of the vocalist's voice. I don't even remember how much different the song is just because of that voice that kicks in!

Songs like Route 80s, B4U, and Spin The Disc have never been a problem for me because scratching isn't too much of a big deal since I play one handed. Pull out a song like Checking You Out, and that's a different story.

Is it unusual to be good at IIDX on the home versions, but be really bad on the arcade machine? Thanks if you have any help.

No, especially if you play at SVGL, where their screen is rather shitty and the turntables are a lot further away from the keys.

On a standard IIDX controller, the key nearest the turntable is only 6-7 centimeters away, and at least 1.5-2 times as far away at the arcade.

I can own Buffalo [7 Keys] at home, but the hardest songs I've passed at the arcade are Gravity and V on Light 7.

I'm now starting to go under the symptoms of IIDX addiction. I've been having these dreams of scrolling notes. Has anyone ever experienced this symptom of IIDX addiction? It's similar to when I was going under symptoms of DDR with the scrolling arrows. I think that I'll be going to SVGL some more Saturdays, but only on certain Saturdays. Other Saturdays, I have exhibition matches at Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments at a local card shop.

I once dremt I nailed a 1600+ combo on V [A] but it had different notes. And I failed it.

I, on the other hand, prefer playing in the arcade for the smaller and closer together keys. Since I can't pinky-scratch or anything, the turntable being further away doesn't bother me, and the closer keys make it easier to do scaling and chords and such one-handed.

As for the strong jaeger, is it just me, or are the songs in 6th style home version that have orange titles a lot harder than their difficulty levels denote? Besides changes and stick around, the rest seem to be really difficult.

I don't remember much trouble with new songs on 6th Style, but I know the home version unlocks always gave me trouble on 5th Style. Something Wonderful and Love is Dreaminess in particular slapped me around even when I was doing songs 1 star higher.

Dude, V[A] only has 15xx notes. And that is pretty much EVERY sound in the song.

I'm looking at the results screen and the note count seems to be 1519.

edit: On a side note, DXY! can blow me. Something about the way the notes are set up prevents me from ever passing it without using Mirror. I think I failed 10 or so times in a row. Ugh...

What's the most amazing IIDX feat you've ever witnessed (not counting tatsujin vids)? This weekend I went to the arcade and there were 2 girls waiting to play in front of me. They played a 2 player game, most ridiculous set I've ever seen. They both AAed Holic [A]... while carrying on a conversation!! I felt pretty stupid following them (although the Amuseum's original Akira Yamaoka course was pretty cool). They also had 6th style on their style of the week machine, and some guy AAAed Fantasy [A] with like 193,000 points. He was using auto scratch, but it was still kind of impressive. I don't understand why you would use autoscratch when you're that good.

For whoever asked for easy 7s on 8th style, there are a ton of them. In no particular order...

Monkey Dance
Last Message
Happy Wedding
Love Me Do
9 O'clocks (watch out for that ending)
Ave de rapina
Aoi Shoudou
ICF 5800
Drivin'
Route 80s
Starmine (dunno why they made it a 7)
War Game
Star Dream
Bring Her Down
Buffalo
etc. etc.

The easiest flashing 7s are probably Xenon and Colors eurobeat.

Changes and Stick Around didn't seem too bad, until I tried them on 14keys. It took me at least four tries to clear Stick Around, and maybe DOUBLE that for Changes.

Dissolve and HBG are underrated by a longshot. I can't even clear Dissolve on light14.....

I was finally able to AA something in IIDX, Yesterday L7. It may not sound like much, but it's an accomplishment for me. Maybe I'll be able to move on to some harder 6's on 7K, 'cause I'm already getting A's on most 5's and some 6's.

~Peace~

I KNOW THAT. I said it had different notes, which suggested a different note count.

Okay, so I just passed V [7]. It took me a while, but I figured it out, and I passed with something like 88% or so. (It and B4U are the only flashing 7s I can pass on 6th style home, and I'm working on Colors.)

On the other hand, I still can't pass a lot of non-flashing sevens, such as QQQ, Holic, etc. Is my skill progression weird, or are there a lot of people who do well on "technique"-type songs but screw up on "random note-mashing" songs?

EDIT: I'm also getting killed by a lot of "easier" flashing 7s like Summer Vacation, etc.
