This delay is enough to make me fail any song on Heavy because all my perfects turn into either goods, almosts, or boos. I read everyone elses review expecting this to work perfectly disgust.gif If any of you know a solution to fix this than that would be great, but I doubt there is.

And yes I have ignore axis on. Would this converter work better with DWI perhaps?

I'm going to have to agree with Chuck. While it is nice and all to finally have a working PS to USB converter, there is an obvious delay where on slower songs, Marvelous and Perfect can turn to Greats ... and on faster songs, they can be worse at times. I tried several songs and it was so obviously off-timed that it made me cringe.

I also have the latest version of Stepmania. I tried it in both the newest Beta version out (the one with Marvelous steps and other new things) as well as the earlier, finished version. And it's bothersome, y'know? Spend this money to get a working converter that still doesn't work as well as it should.

I don't know about you guys but when I order something that I want right away, I get impatient and I check everyday to see if its in the mail. When it finally arrives, it's a great feeling. Now when it arrives and it doesn't work at all like you expected, it is really frustrating >_<

I built my own hard pad (thankyou DDRHomepad biggrin.gif ) and was thinking about the best way to hook it up to DWI. I'm using windows 2000, and have directx 8.

Any suggestions appreciated

umm... just change the gap in your dwis to like, -25 of what it was. i don't know if stepmania has a feature like this, but in dwi you can go to global gap and make all songs have a lower or higher gap.

I'm having a problem with my EMSUSB2 converter. Every so often, whether I'm playing Stepmania, DWI, or playing nothing at all, the adapter will power off, and I have to unplug it, and plug it back in. I've tried it on both my computers (windows xp and windows 2000), and it does it on both of them. This is highley annoying, as it will do it once every 2 songs, or even more sometimes. How should I go about solving this?

I've been surfing this topic and half of the people say that the EMS USB2 converter is godlike but the other half says it is slow...could it perhaps be your stepfiles that are slow? They are man made, so there could be error (it happens all the time on my files like the faster ones such as MaxX Unlimited or MaxX Extermination)...

I am willing to spend what it takes as long as I know it will work with MYMYBOX pads and I can play doubles.

THANKS!

I use this adapter for one pad. Then I followed these instructions to turn it into a doubles adapter.

ok, there is something wrong with my EMS. It's slow like other people here have mentioned. It is definitely NOT my stepfiles, as I hit the arrow keys on my keyboard at the exact same timing, and they count as perfects. I have to hit the arrows a little bit early, or I always get greats or even goods. I have a 2 Ghz comp with 256 RAM, a Radeon 64MB AGP card, Stepmania 3.00 final, directx 9, and all that stuff.
Does ANYONE have any ideas as to why it's doing this on some comps and not others, and even more importantly, how to fix it? PLEASE!!! I NEED TO HAVE PERFECT TIMING!!! Please don't say I have to change the timing on every single one of my 400 some odd files. That would be murder. I'd rather shove an icepick underneath my toenail.

A lot of people say that the EMS USB2 works and a lot of people have problems with it. Is there a converter where nobody has problems with it? I heard that the Boom PS Joy Converter is good, but is there a website other than lik-sang and ebay that carry this product? Also has anybody tried the Free LPT Port PC adapter that comes with the BNS Ultra DX-Xtreme Dance Pad?

The best adapter for me :

http://www.emulatronia.com/reportajes/directpad/psxeng/index.htm

homemade RULEZ !!!

I bought a Boom Usb PSX adapter for $15 and.... it....su** map arrow to axis

I saw some other USB adapter... but i was to angry of my da** boom adapter so I found this web page (this time i jsut copied it from another post E10.gif)

First I did a 1P .... really easy.. 30 min and it was done.... work perfect... cost : $4 (the PSX female plug) 5 diode taken from old cardboard and a old LPT cable and.. soldering iron ($6 radio shack..)

than... I jsut saw a female plug on my Boom adapter.. remover it from the cardboard.... removed the cardboard from the "box" and... did a 2P adapter (with my 1P)

cost : some wire... (lol)

Work : PERFECT !!

Driver for 2K/XP : Ntpad is good but (I was having problem so) PSXPAD work better (for me.. because of LAG in stepmania... but.. this is when I did the 2P plug.. but with PSX PAD.. its perfect)

Driver for 98 : Direct pad (dont know how it work but it should be perfect)

finaly, why should I pay $15 for a peice of junk... when I can do something that I know how to repair... for 10$($14 for a 2P or $8 if you have a soldering iron)

I was just letting you know my opinion about buying some USB adapter...

I know...... the LPT port is "used"... use a old "LPT A/B" separtor.... swtich to B when using DDR and switch to A when using printer... (I dont personaly have this because of my USB printer E15.gif)

.... sorry for my ugly englihs im a quebecer hehe... and my "if, then" opinion (im always writing like that because im always doing programation biggrin.gif )

My PSJoy adapter by Boom is working. I went to its properties and checked all the buttons and they were working fine. The problem is when I boot up Stepmania the buttons seem to shut off.
