Without getting into debates of morality, there is the issue that not buying reduces profits and we all know what happens when something is profitable. If it makes money, people will make it. Thus, more buying and less stepmania leads to more DDR games and more DDR songs.
People might say that "One person doesn't make a difference" but actually, the issue occurs when ten people say that, or a hundred. If a thousand people just download the whole thing, that's $60,000 less (granted a portion of that is taken by the game stores). That's a lot of money. I threw a french fry and someone who told me that... REALLY hard... _________________

Besides, I have a feeling that we'll be seeing them on the US version of MAX2. (After all, Kind Lady and So In Love showed up in the US from DDRMAX JP. There is a possibility for the new ones as well. Especially after reading the SOTA interview in the MAX USA instruction book, and reading up on how there might be new versions of Kind Lady and LTTS.) |
Well, if you have a MAX2 next door of course most of these aren't new. It happens to be a Japanese release of the same title, and they tend to be pretty close ports. Now even though you've played say The Whistle Song, Candy(Heart), or MaxX Unlimited, it doesn't mean that most of us have or can. Actually, I find that playing for a day in the arcade takes me $10 or so, more if the arcade is empty. I play enough that I could go through $20 a week were a Max2 to be in my town, logically, buying a game for $60 seems like a good deal for unlimited use. Even if I could play Candy(Heart) at the arcade, there's value to being able to play if for free.
Free is good. I wish I could get a Sakura colored JPS2 free... _________________

Man I just can't wait to make some new edits. Somebody should post a dexdrive edit file when they get their copy. Mine is coming tomorrow and I can't wait. I wonder if they will let you throw down 1/32 steps in edits now like Tsugaru. _________________

Well, don't I feel like an idiot. I thought it was for US PS2. I heard it would come out in the fall, but never actually noticed the change of subject when I looked on the game's site. I figured they just moved the date up. Jesus. _________________

I'm really confused at how someone can read a headline that says "The game has shipped", view a songlist FROM the game, and then still have questions about whether or not a song on said songlist will be on the game which has already shipped.
YES, it's on MAX2JP. Will it be on MAX2USA? Who knows. _________________

I really hope people aren't going to put their complaints about what songs should have been there that should't... This is a port of MAX2, NOT a scrambled mix like MAX USA. If you want to play Cartoon Heroes, or want songs like Frozen Ray (like me, heh), then we'll just have to either go to an Extreme machine or wait until Extreme is ported. If ya want to play any of the 6th mix songs, just import DDR MAX! Let's just leave it at THAT...PLEASE! This songlist is great, nobody should be complaining. Everybody truly does have the ability to get every single mix, it's all a matter of being stingy or not...or being lazy. 'Tis not a time for complaining, so let's not see this. |

wait..... i have a question??
the oni remixes?? i saw the ones on there like sexy planet and exstacy and tsugaru but are they only playable in oni mode?? or are they playable in the normal game as well like in extreme. cause i read that unlockable song list link and that gives me the impression that theyre playable in the regualar game as well.
if any one knows or finds out in the coming days please let me know _________________

Obviously everyone's opinions are different. You have your set of circumstances, and I have mine. In no way did I flaunt my status, or give a "Haha! I'm better than u! LOL!!11) statement. I'm just stating the conditions I'm dealt with.
Since not everyone has that luxury, they'll be looking to import MAX2 moreso than I. To be quite honest, I've just about given up importing DDR in the first place. I'd rather buy the US releases than spend huge gobs of money either modding my system or buying a Japanese PS2. Again, that is my opinion. Your situation could be much different.
I'm not saying that if I played the home version, I wouldn't enjoy it. I'm just saying that (in my opinion) the game isn't an "instant buy", but something I'd get down the road. (Well, assuming I had the means to play it.) |

there's only about 9 songs from MAX and MAX2 JP that are on MAXUSA, i'm sure that they'll include the rest of the MAX JP on MAX2USA just like they bundled up old songs from the previous mixes since USA is behind JP anyway |

Wow. I had five surprises. The first was Paranoia Survivor. They probably just did that because we all thought they wouldn't. The second was the return of endless. I really like that one. Surprises 3-5 were all related to the oni course named "DJ SOTA".
What I wasn't surprised to see was an excellent and large songlist combined with 18 oni courses that don't suck. Actually, those onis look pretty good! I'm not surprised that a few licenses were skipped either. If make-your-own-oni wasn't spoiled earlier I would've been off my feet!
I'm still debating importing this. Of the 74 songs present we already have 21 of them and only 15 are licensed. Granted that 15 is a very high number of licenses but there are so many more ( arguably better ) KOs. I think we'll get the other 38 KOs within the next few KOA releases anyways. And its not like KOA is going to unprogram endless mode again. |
