This is by far the best DDR game to date, and I am now finally convinced that getting a Japanese PS2 is worth it. If you go here http://shop.store.yahoo.com/egamesy2k/sonplayconja.html you can buy it for $300...a price that I think is worth it, considering how much fun you can have with this game! You can't put a price on DDR!
That songlist is as sweet as sugar, I'm really glad Crash! is in it, I love that song! Too bad Frozen Ray from Extreme wasn't there, that would have rocked my world. |

Hmm... I have a modded ps2, and I'm wondering if a US ps2 memory card will save for the MAX2JP. Does anyone know anything about this? _________________

My US memory card works fine for Jap Max, so I would assume it would work the same with Max2...My copy should arrive Friday...I'm too cheap to have it overnighted, but not for second day air _________________

Well, you could just wait til this fall for it to come out in the U.S. It will most likely have all those songs minus a few plus a few. |

*looks at songlist*
Well, according to this http://www.konamityo.com/bemani/max2/music/music00.html
and this http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Knight/6485/ddr/cs_max2/musiclist.htm
Dead End, B4U, Drop Out, Dynamite Rave, Paranoia Rebirth, Kind Lady, blah blah blah.
Are infact, on the mix.
Maybe these sites are wrong, seeing i have yet to play the game myself, but i tend to trust the official konami site. _________________

74 songs. Not bad, eclipsing the DDRMAX USA songlist by 3. (I know one probably doesn't have to do with the other, I'm just making the point.) However, it just doesn't grab me as a "must buy" just yet. Here are several reasons why:
-22 of these songs only have Oni steps. The song list has been inflated to 74, yet only 52 of them have full difficultiy lists. Granted that the Oni remixes are fun, but the challenge of completing everything seems lessened by not creating new steps for the songs. (My own opinion. Take it for what you will.)
-All the US "exclusive" songs are on this. Ever. (Well, minus the licensed material, and the two "edited" songs.) Why spend $60-$70 or more to play these all over again? I have access to them right now with Konamix and MAX USA.
-I only count 3 songs that I've never played before: the CS exclusives. Each with one difficulty. That doesn't yell out at me directly to buy this mix. Besides, I have a feeling that we'll be seeing them on the US version of MAX2. (After all, Kind Lady and So In Love showed up in the US from DDRMAX JP. There is a possibility for the new ones as well. Especially after reading the SOTA interview in the MAX USA instruction book, and reading up on how there might be new versions of Kind Lady and LTTS.)
The Oni Course editor is cool. The Endless Mode return is great. Heck, there might be new modes we've yet to be discovered. However, as it stands now, I've played and passed every song on that list minus the CS songs. I have a MAX2 five minutes from my house, Konamix, MAX USA, and if need be, I can make the drive to an Extreme machine. While having the near-entire MAX2 songlist at home is nice...I don't know. I just haven't been "wowed" yet. MAX1 J didn't "wow" me by simply transplanting the entire songlist from the arcade and only adding two new ones. MAX USA did actually "wow" me by giving me access to a bunch of songs I like to play into one convenient package, and adding 15 new ones I never played before.
I'll wait a bit and see how MAX2 USA is progressing. If the CS songs from MAX2 JP show up, I'll pass up on this mix outright. But until then, I'll just wait and see. |

Maybe because I don't have acess to all the songs that I like or maybe because I do not have a hard pad? I know I do not waste that much money but I would waste that much probably in one year. _________________

I would hope it is different for the US songlist. 2 problems. No A, no Cartoon heroes. |

The Japanese version of this game, ain't that bad since alot of songs off of DDR Max 2 Arcade but I miss My Sweet Darlin'!! I hope the US version of DDR MAX 2 is alot better than this. They don't have all the Oni courses from the arcade!! 11 song Oni are you crazy? Legend Road is hard enough!! 11 songs? They gotta be out of their minds!!

People, if you want to play 6'th mix songs, then go get MAX JP.
I think they did a really good job on this. Cool oni's, make your own oni, nice songs *even though there you'll be and more then i needed to know shall be missed.* _________________
