If your getting the CG pads Abyss I am pretty sure you can mod them (use the search function) to get more life out of them. I THINK ps2freak is the authority on that here. So you may want to ask him.

Didn't know you came to DDRF DM. I still say GO TO THE ARCADE!!!! riiight.gif

My friend says that MyMyBox's don't really respond well for him. So steer clear of those.

I've never heard of lvl6, but may be worth a shot. Why not just go get some Cobalt Flux?

If you're in Canada, you can get the 8 arrows metal pads at this site www.gameenhancer.net/Game-Enhancer.html

Same pads as Mymybox but at a fraction of the price.

It finally happened... the Select button on one of my MyMyBox metal pads stopped working. I'm pretty sure it's a problem in the pad and not the PS2 because if I plug in the other MyMyBox metal pad to the same controller port, the select button on the second pad works.

Does anyone have experience and suggestions on how to fix this? Returning the pad is out of the question since I've had these pads since June 26, 2002, and besides, they've undergone _Ter's Essential MyMyBox Mod and work extremely well (other than the failed Select button).

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I don't remember seeing it, and the Search feature on DDRFreak timed out after 30 seconds.

Has anybody used the Cobalt Flux doubles kit? I'm thinking about starting Doubles and getting 2 Cobalt Fluxes for my birthday.

Don't buy Cyphergames pads. They are poopy.

I bought a pair of them and I had them for 4 days and both of them were almost totally broken.

Problems:

1st Pad:
Not working at all- snapped wires to the start/select adapter

2nd Pad:
Down, Left, and X all DOA. Their sensors had snapped wires.

I emailed for customer service, but it didn't help at all. I say, if you need to go expensive, go expensive, or if you can't go expensive, go the soft pad thread. I probably will send my CG pads back, but there's no warranty, so I have to pay a huge shipping cost, but I'm going to get a CF pad hopefully. I hear your good reviews about it, so why not?

What is the purpose of the lower left and lower right arrows? In what game can you use them in?

pump it up I think. I was looking through the SM CVS arrow pics and it looks like PIU uses the four corners and the middle square.

Wouldn't you need the center arrow to play PIU? Wouldn't you fail a lot of songs if you didn't have that arrow?

Since no one seems to have any suggestions, I'll answer my own question. E15.gif

I finally unanchored my metal pad and noticed that one of the two screws holding the control box on the edge of the pad came loose. I unscrewed the remaining screw and opened up the control box, and immediately saw the problem. The white wire, one of the two wires connecting the select button to the circuit board, was snapped. Most likely, this wire had crept between the bottom of the pad and one of the walls of the control box (since one of the two screws was missing), and with all the stomping from playing DDR, the control box wall finally cut through the wire! I just made a simple fix (strip the ends of the wire where the cut happened, twist the ends together, and cover the exposed area with duct tape) and the select button is happy again.

Moral of the story: Make sure your control box is secured properly, and failing that, make sure the wires inside the control box are secured away from the walls of the control box.
